Chapter 337 For Fynn and Tiffany
Emilia’s POV
I clapped a hand over my mouth.
I couldn’t believe it. Willow had the nerve to wrap herself around another man right there on a street.
My blood ran hot. I thought of Tiffany’s warnings, of how hard Fynn had fallen for this woman, and something in my chest twisted on his behalf.
My hand went for the door handle. I wanted to march over and have it out with her.
“Easy, “Eve murmured. “Think first, snap later.”
She was right. Fynn adored Willow. If she denied everything, my word meant nothing. Blowing up now would only make me look like the fool.
I needed a smarter play.
I let my gaze follow Willow to the building she walked into. A yoga club.
I filed it away and drove off.
I drove to Uncle Chuck’s place.
“That address you wanted,” he said. “Best I can figure. Little port town called Haven’s Reach. Sits right on the coast. Forest on one side, ocean on the other. Good place to disappear once, I’d guess. These days it’s turned into a decent little tourist town.”
Haven’s Reach. I turned the name over in my mouth.
“You planning to go poke around?” Chuck asked.
“Thinking about it,” I said.
I drove home with two threads tangled in my head. A coastal town that might hold answers about my mother’s witch line, and a cheating girlfriend who needed handling.
On the way back to the pack house, I stopped at that glass-front yoga club and signed up for a membership.
Then I strolled into the study, dropped onto the arm of Sebastian’s chair, and announced I’d found myself a hobby.
He arched a brow over his laptop. “A hobby.”
“Yoga,” I said. “Apparently I’m tense. Can’t imagine why.”
He didn’t laugh. But the corner of his mouth twitched, which for Sebastian was practically a standing ovation.
The next day I went back and let the ambush unfold.
Willow blinked when she saw me on the next mat over.
She came right up. “Miss Emilia? Do you remember me?”
I gave her my warmest smile. “Of course. Fynn’s girlfriend. We met at the hospital.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Yoga,” I said. “You?”
“Same.” She stretched her arms overhead. “I’ve been feeling run-down lately. Two months off the mat will do that. I used to practically live here.”
“Is that so.” I pretended to be fascinated.
We chatted like old friends. She had no idea I’d watched her kiss another man two days ago.
The class ran two hours. During the break, the doors swung open and Sebastian walked in with a bouquet of blue roses.
My heart skipped. I hurried over. “What are you doing here?”
“Had a meeting nearby. Thought I’d look in on my wife.”
“You didn’t have to bring flowers,” I whispered.
“I want them jealous,” he said, low. “I want every woman in this room to know you’ve got a husband who’s mad for you.”
We murmured together past the end of the break, until I pushed at his chest. “Go. They’re calling us back.”
I lined up and waved him off, and the whole row of women melted.
“Oh my stars, Miss Taylor, your husband is gorgeous.”
“Gorgeous and thoughtful. Do you know how hard blue roses are to find?”
“Half a year I’ve been coming here and my husband’s never once shown his face.”
I let my eyes slide to Willow. She wasn’t cooing with the rest. She was studying Sebastian, slow and thoughtful, sizing him up.
That look told me everything. This woman didn’t want love. She wanted a bigger fish.
The second I got home, I grabbed Sebastian’s sleeve and towed him upstairs.
“Come on. I need to tell you something.”
“What is it?” He looked baffled.
I steered him onto the bedroom sofa and dropped down beside him. “Guess what I saw a few days ago.”
“How would I know? What did you see?”
“Willow York. With another man.” I let it hang. “I didn’t believe Tiffany when she first floated it. I got suspicious after Fynn’s little car accident. But now? I saw it with my own eyes.”
His jaw tightened. “Have you told Fynn?”
“And say what? He’s so gone on her he’d call me a liar and thank her for the trouble.” I shook my head. “No point.”
Sebastian exhaled. “Then leave it. Everyone’s got their own mess. It’s not our fight.”
“Not our fight?” I twisted to face him. “Fynn isn’t a stranger. He’s Tiffany’s whole world, in case you’ve forgotten. This lands right on your sister’s doorstep. And he’s your Beta, your right hand. You’d really sit there and watch him get played for a fool?”
He rubbed his temple. “So what do you want to do?”
“We make Fynn see her for what she is.”
Sebastian went still, dread creeping across his face. “Please tell me you don’t already have a plan.”
“Of course I have a plan.” I smiled sweetly. “Came to me on the drive home.”
“…Let’s hear it.”
I told him.
He shook his head before I finished. “No. Absolutely not. Why am I the bait?”
“Because,” I said patiently, “the way she looked at you today? That woman was practically drawing up a prenup. You’re perfect for the job.”
“You’re not afraid I’ll run off into the sunset with her?”
“Hmm.” I pretended to weigh it, then flicked his forehead. “Would you fall for a woman like that?”
He had no comeback, which I counted as a win. He wasn’t done squirming, though. “Find someone else. If Fynn ever finds out I baited his girl, he’ll come at me claws out.”
“Think about why she’s cheating in the first place,” I said. “She’s chasing money and status. Fynn’s an orphan. Solid, decent, going places, but not flashy. The man she picked to fool around with has to outshine him. So he has to shine bright.” I patted his arm. “Congratulations. You’re the brightest thing in the room.”
“So you’re shoving me at another woman. Again.”
“Not at all. I’m asking you to sacrifice that pretty face for the greater good. For Fynn. For Tiffany.”
“I’ll think about it,” he muttered, and moved to stand.
I caught his hand and held on, softening my voice. “The plan’s already set, love. Nothing left to think about. Honestly, I could use the fun. Do it for me? Please?”
“Oh, you’re shameless, “Eve laughed.
I felt Sebastian’s resistance crumble by degrees. Ryder, I suspected, wasn’t helping his case.
Finally he sighed like a defeated man. “Fine. Fine. I’ve spoiled you this far. What’s a little more.”
“That’s the spirit. I knew you were the best.” I kissed his cheek and reached for my phone. “I’ll call Lily.”
“Why Lily?”
“So she can bring Scott along.”
Sebastian’s head snapped around, eyes narrowing. “Why in the Goddess’s name would you drag that guy into this?”
