Chapter 252 Feelings Can Be Nurtured Again
As he looked away,
he noticed a Bentley parked across the street.
“By the way, your mother said you two have been having some major disagreements lately. No matter what, she’s still your mother. There’s no such thing as an overnight feud between a mother and son.” Alexander Sullivan sneered inwardly.
Just then,
his phone vibrated. He took it out and said to Johnson Royce, “Dad, I need to take this.””Okay.”Alexander Sullivan answered the call. “Hello!”Tristan Sterling’s voice came from the other end. “When are you getting here?””Something came up. It’ll be a little while.”Tristan hummed in acknowledgment.
Johnson Royce vaguely heard the voice on the other end of the line and thought it sounded a little familiar. But since the person only said one sentence, he wasn’t sure who it was and didn’t give it much more thought.
Seeing Alexander Sullivan hang up,
Johnson Royce asked, “Is that work? Are you busy?”Alexander Sullivan said, “It’s nothing. Not urgent.””In that case, why don’t we eat first? It’s on me today.”Alexander Sullivan didn’t refuse. “Okay.”Only then did they call the waiter over to order.
「After dinner.」
Alexander Sullivan offered to take him home.
“My driver is picking me up, so there’s no need. Come over for dinner when you have time,” Johnson Royce said, patting Alexander Sullivan’s shoulder.

Alexander Sullivan stepped forward and opened the car door. As Johnson Royce got in, he said reluctantly, “Go on, get to your business. Call me if you need anything.””Mm, okay.”He closed the car door.
The car slowly pulled away.
Alexander Sullivan stood where he was, watching the car merge into traffic and drive away before looking away. The Bentley across the street was still parked there.
He averted his gaze and got into his car.
He called Jane Sullivan.
「Inside a private room at the club.」
“You seem to be in a good mood.” Tristan Sterling clearly noticed a change in his demeanor.
Alexander Sullivan took a sip of his drink. “I just had dinner with my dad.”Upon hearing this,
Tristan Sterling’s hand, which was holding his glass, paused. “Your father sought you out?””Yeah.” As he spoke, Alexander swirled the drink in his glass. “My mom sent him.”
“It seems Mrs. Ainsworth must have run out of options to have asked your father to step in.”
“Yeah! My dad thinks he isn’t good enough for her, but she’s the one who was never good enough for him.”
“But without your mother, there would be no you.”Alexander Sullivan let out another low chuckle. “My dad was right. It’s all fate.”He tilted his head back and drained his glass in one go.
Tristan Sterling watched him and asked, “So, what does your mother want you to do?”
Alexander Sullivan said, “Julian Jennings went to the Ainsworth family. He’s demanding they give him an answer about your wife. It’s clear Julian is playing for keeps this time. He really does care about your wife. If she hadn’t married you and ended up with Julian Jennings instead, maybe she’d be very happy.”
Tristan Sterling’s dark eyes narrowed slightly. He set down his glass, his voice low and raspy from the alcohol. “There are no ’what ifs’ in this world. She doesn’t love him.”
Alexander Sullivan smiled. “But she’s suing you for divorce. Clearly, she doesn’t love you anymore.”
“Feelings can be rekindled.”
“You always act so certain of victory. Aren’t you afraid you’ll crash and burn one day?”
A strange glint flickered in Tristan Sterling’s dark eyes. The dim light reflecting in them made him impossible to read. “We’ll talk when that day actually comes.”
