Chapter 578
Shane refused to accept the fact that he couldn’t measure up to Sasha.
Yvonne hurriedly said, “You just haven’t found something that is enjoyable and compatible for you. When you find it, you’ll do even better than Sasha!”
Initially, Yvonne was worrying about how she could get Shane to cause more trouble for Sasha. This was the perfect opportunity!
Trying to conceal her joy, Yvonne pretended to casually ask, “Sasha probably likes you, too. Why don’t you try winning her over? If you date, you can learn her strategies for success.”
As Shane gazed at Yvonne, he found her thoughtful expression particularly endearing.
From Shane’s perspective, Yvonne liked him, yet she was asking him to pursue Sasha. He thought she must have been extremely jealous when she said that.
Shane thought that If he told Yvonne that he would consider dating Sasha, Yvonne may just cry. Shane didn’t know what it was like to truly love somebody, but he knew that he didn’t want to make the person who liked him cry. He said, “Don’t worry. I won’t pursue her.”
Yvonne was confused when she heard that. Her plan would only succeed if Shane pursued Sasha; if Shane gave up on pursuing Sasha, there was no way Yvonne could stop worrying!
Shane continued, “Right now, I want to focus on my career. As for relationships, I’ll wait until after I earn more money.”
“I see,” said Yvonne.
Feeling slightly disappointed, Yvonne told herself that some things could not be rushed. Since she was not close to Shane, he wouldn’t comply if she suddenly requested him to do such things.

Meanwhile, at around 10:00 pm, Milton and Dorothy arrived at their destination with the children. After getting settled, they updated their status in the group chat. Dorothy wrote, “We’ve arrived.”
Then, she sent two pictures of the two children soundly asleep. Dorothy was bunking with the children for the night. Meanwhile, Milton was sharing a room with their chauffeur.
When I heard the notification, I immediately checked the group chat. When I saw the pictures of the children, my gaze softened unconsciously.
I replied, “They’re asleep already?”
Dorothy responded, “Yeah. They
were excited on the way here and used up too much energy. When we arrived, they immediately fell asleep. I wiped them down so both of you don’t have to worry.”
Suzy asked, “Are you sure the both of you can handle two children? If you can’t, would you want me to come over to help?”
In response, Dorothy sent a voice note, saying, “It’s okay. They’re both very mature and well-mannered. The both of you can rest easy.”
With that, Suzy replied, “Okay, then.”
Immediately after, Suzy texted me and wrote, “This is the first time my daughter has been away from me, since I took her over from my ex-husband. I’m proud of how independent she is at such a young age, but there’s also some mixed feelings about it.”
As I read Suzy’s text, I could empathize with how she felt. I replied, “It’s the same for me, too. But when I think about it again, J know that our children will

“It would be better for us to get used to farewells when they are still young. That way, when they grow older, it won’t be too unfamiliar for us.” Suzy chuckled to herself and replied, “You’re right. We need to give our children room to grow independently instead of clinging on too tightly. “Otherwise, when they grow older, they will become giant babies who don’t know any better. If that happens, it will be troublesome for us.”
