had no means of making money, and you disallowed me from giving her money.
“Where did she find the money to pay for her medical bills when she delivered the baby? She saved all of that money when she worked away during her pregnancy. What if she didn’t work because she had to prioritize her health?”
Steven turned to stare at Chloe and asked, “Did you ever consider how she was supposed to deliver the child?”
Chloe muttered, “I didn’t know you didn’t give her any money.”
Steven sneered and continued, “Later, I stopped giving her any money. You suggested that, too, right?” Chloe didn’t know how to explain herself.
Steven carried on, saying, “My wife poured out everything she had into me, yet I didn’t even give her a single cent. Not only did she handle all the house chores, but she also had to make a living to support me and the baby.
“Mom, you’re a woman too. How can you be so mean to another woman? But the same goes for me. As her husband, why did I listen to everything you said?”
With teary eyes, Steven asked, “Did you know? I felt like I was an animal. In the past six years, I earned several billion dollars, but all I gave her was a measly 10,000 dollars. But what about her? She willingly spent so much on me without any complaints.”
