Instead, Kayla and Payton were leaning against the railing, deep in conversation. Their eyes were practically sparkling with excitement about something.

Before Tania could finish, Kayla cut her off with a laugh. “What are you even talking about? I’m just saying it’s lunchtime and I’m starving. If you guys don’t hurry up, Payton and I are ditching you for the cafeteria p>

Class G cracked up, the whole group laughing. “For real! Class A acts like all they need is study. Why do you even need lunch p>

As everyone piled on, Marianna’s cheeks flushed red and her eyes went glossy with tears. She put on her most wounded look. “Kayla, I was just trying to work something out. Even if you won’t let us go first, did you really have to humiliate me like this?
“Or are you just scared I’ll beat you in finals, so you’re trying to waste our study time on purpose? Do you honestly think that’ll help you win p>
Kayla just stared at Marianna’s supposedly innocent face, catching the sneaky calculation in her eyes.
Honestly, Marianna could twist facts like it was an Olympic sport. They were the ones causing trouble, but somehow she’d managed to make Kayla look like the villain, painting her as a sore loser playing dirty tricks.

Davon hated seeing Marianna look so hurt. He glared at Kayla, fury burning in his eyes. “Kayla, what is wrong with you? Marianna was just trying to talk, and you snapped at her and got everyone to gang up. You’re way out of line!

Davon’s face went red with anger, and he was about to snap back when a sharp voice cut through the noise. “Why are you all standing around making a scene? What do you think this looks like p>
Kayla and the others looked over. Ravenna was striding toward them with a stern expression. Right beside her was Rachel, all gentle smiles.
Marianna knew Ravenna never liked Class G, so she quickly hurried over with her sweetest smile. “Ms. Nielsen, it’s all Class G’s fault! They’re wasting their own time and now they’re holding us back on purpose, trying to sabotage our studying,” she said, looking pitiful.
A cold glint flashed in Kayla’s eyes. ‘Does Marianna seriously think we’re idiots? She’s lying right to our faces,’ she thought, barely holding back a scoff.
