Ethan had arrived with two bodyguards.
The instant it seemed like Ethan might take a hit, and with him making no move to stop it, one of the bodyguards stepped in, quickly intercepting Minna’s mother by catching her wrist before she could land the slap. An icy glare from the bodyguard made her freeze, and his grip tightened just enough to make her wince in pain. Tears threatened to spill as she let out a sharp cry.
At a signal from Ethan, the bodyguard released her and quietly returned to his position.
“Mrs. Davies, I’m here to offer an apology on behalf of my parents,” Ethan said.
Minna’s mother, Julissa Davies, was about the same age as Elsa. They had been close friends for years, which was why Elsa had introduced Minna to her son.
