Chapter 451 When the time comes, she’ll swap your wolves
The Flashback itself continues. (The flashback in a flashback was about Noelle telling the story to little Daisy).
Daisy sat there quietly, trying to absorb everything Noelle had just revealed. The more she thought about it all, the hotter the anger burned inside her chest. Her fists slowly clenched tight.
“This isn’t fair, Mom,” she said, her voice trembling with raw frustration. “I should be the one learning how to become Luna.”
Noelle gently brushed a strand of hair away from Daisy’s face. “There is still hope.” A small, determined smile curled her lips. “Neither of you has received your wolf yet.” She lowered her voice. “We can still pray for a miracle.”
She leaned closer. “The truth is, only those who know about the gifted wolf would recognize her once she awakens.” Her eyes carefully scanned the room before she continued. “Until then, you must be careful.” She gently squeezed Daisy’s hand. “When no one else is around, you may call me Mother.”
Her expression turned serious. “But whenever anyone is nearby, you will call me Aunt.”
Daisy nodded. Even at her young age, she already understood the painful weight of pretending.
Her real mother was the Beta’s wife, yet she was forced to live as the daughter of an omega. Every single day she watched Seraphine enjoy the life that should have been hers.
The affection she had once felt for Seraphine for donating her blood to her slowly disappeared. Jealousy replaced admiration. Resentment replaced kindness. And hatred quietly settled deep inside her heart like a poison.
“I hate her,” she said, her young face twisting with anger. “We should kill her.”
“No.” Noelle answered immediately, her tone leaving zero room for argument. “Seraphine stays alive.”
Daisy frowned. “Why? Is it because you love her more than you love me?”
“No,” Noelle quickly shook her head. “It’s because her blood is the only reason you’re still alive.”
The room fell silent. Two more years passed, then everything changed once again.
One afternoon, Ravyn returned to the packhouse with another young boy. The moment Daisy saw Voren for the first time, her heart skipped a beat.
Even as a teenager, he carried himself differently from everyone else. His expression stayed cold and distant. His eyes revealed almost nothing. The other kids instinctively kept their distance from him. Something about him demanded respect without him ever saying a word.
Daisy couldn’t stop staring. She immediately decided she wanted him, but reality quickly disappointed her.
Voren barely acknowledged anyone except Seraphine. His eyes naturally followed her everywhere. Whenever Seraphine laughed, he looked in her direction. Whenever she spoke, he listened closely.
The attention Daisy desperately craved belonged entirely to the same girl who stole her identity as the beta’s daughter.
Unable to keep those burning feelings inside any longer, she went straight to Noelle. “Mom…” She hesitated before quietly admitting, “I want Voren.”
Noelle blinked in surprise. “But Ravyn already likes you.” She smiled reassuringly. “You can still become Luna instead of Seraphine.”
Daisy stubbornly shook her head. “I don’t want Ravyn.” Her answer came without any hesitation. “I want Voren.”
Confusion spread across Noelle’s face. “Why?”
Daisy’s cheeks flushed. “Because he’s going to become an Alpha too.” Her eyes sparkled as she remembered him. “Everyone fears him more than Ravyn.” A dreamy smile crossed her face. “He never lets anyone get close. Who wouldn’t want to be the only girl Voren has eyes for? Ravyn is too nice, making it easy for anyone to approach him.”
She lowered her eyes. “But the way Voren looks at Sera…” Jealousy flashed hot across her face. “That should be me.”
Noelle couldn’t help letting out a quiet sigh. She reached over and gently stroked Daisy’s hair. “You’re still too young to worry about boys.” Her voice became gentle again. “When you turn eighteen, we’ll have this conversation again.”
A knowing smile slowly stretched her lips. “And don’t worry.” Her eyes gleamed with dark confidence. “I’ve already found a sorceress.” The smile deepened. “When the time comes, she’ll swap your wolves.”
She gently cupped Daisy’s face. “And the moment that happens…” Her voice dropped to a whisper full of cold certainty. “Seraphine will be banished from this pack… to live as a rogue.”
Everything Noelle revealed filled Daisy with such wild excitement that her heart raced like crazy and she could barely sit still. If everything went according to their plan, she wouldn’t just reclaim her rightful place as the Beta’s daughter. She would also get to watch Seraphine lose absolutely everything. The thought alone brought a dark, satisfied smile to her face.
In Daisy’s eyes, Seraphine had stolen the life that was supposed to be hers. She had stolen the love of Alpha Humphrey and Luna Kylie. She had stolen the bright future that should have belonged to Daisy. And worst of all, she had stolen Voren.
Daisy’s resentment grew stronger and more poisonous with every passing year.
Among the young pups in the pack, one topic came up again and again whenever the older wolves weren’t around: Voren.
Many whispered that Ravyn and Voren looked almost like brothers. Both were incredibly handsome, carrying themselves with natural confidence.
But there was something completely different about Voren. Something that made everyone instinctively keep their distance. He seemed untouchable, cold, and unapproachable.
Even the boldest girls only admired him from afar in secret, making sure he never overheard their whispered conversations. No one dared confess their feelings to him.
Voren rarely smiled. His expression almost always looked cold enough to freeze anyone who tried to get close. Except… everything about him softened whenever Seraphine was nearby.
He looked at her differently, spoke to her differently, and protected her without even realizing it. Every single glance he gave Seraphine fueled Daisy’s burning hatred even more.
She clenched her fists until her nails dug painfully into her palms. ’She doesn’t deserve any of it.’ The words echoed endlessly inside her mind. ’She deserves to die.’
Looking back at Noelle, curiosity suddenly pushed aside some of her anger. “Can I meet this sorceress?”
