Chapter 453 You really know how to shut a bitch up

Daisy was absolutely loving every single second of watching Seraphine give Voren that ice-cold shoulder.

It felt even sweeter because Voren had completely stopped looking at Seraphine the way he used to, like she hung the damn moon.

Now every glance he shot her way was totally blank and freezing cold, and Daisy couldn’t have been more thrilled about it. Deep down, she could tell it wasn’t just dislike anymore.

The man straight-up hated Seraphine, and that was exactly how Daisy wanted things to stay forever.

The only thing that kept gnawing at her was Seraphine’s missing memories. If those ever came flooding back, everything Daisy had worked so hard to bury would explode right out into the open.

Seraphine would remember all the lies, call her out in front of everyone, and maybe even worm her way back into Voren’s heart. Just picturing it made Daisy’s stomach twist into horrible, painful knots that wouldn’t let go.

That stupid spell had wrecked way more than it ever fixed. When she’d first agreed to let the sorceress cast it, Daisy had thought it would be this quick, easy fix for all her problems.

Instead, it turned out to be the worst mistake of her entire life, haunting her every single day.

Ever since that moment, she’d lost all control the second any man got close, human, werewolf, it didn’t matter. Raw desire would slam into her before her brain could even catch up.

Back in the city, she’d given up trying to keep count of how many guys she’d slept with. The number was embarrassingly huge, and thinking about it still made her cringe inside.

Zane had been one of them, and unfortunately, he wasn’t the kind of guy who just forgot stuff like that.

He’d kept careful records of every single man she’d been with, and no matter how much money she threw at him, Daisy still hadn’t found a way to shut him up for good.

On top of all that, Ravyn had started watching her like a hawk, making it almost impossible for her to sneak off anywhere without him knowing exactly where she was.

That cursed spell had even dragged her straight into Raul’s bed, and Bryan had come from that one wild, reckless night.

The one tiny bright spot in the whole disaster was that Seraphine had raised the boy herself. Bryan had grown up into this sweet, gentle kid who stayed completely untouched by Daisy’s bitterness or the heavy darkness she carried around inside her.

Even after those three massive chemical explosions pulled everyone’s focus in a million different directions, Ravyn never stopped keeping tabs on her. It was so damn frustrating.

Every single time she thought she had a chance to slip away and fix her mistakes before they completely swallowed her alive, the opportunity vanished before she could even move a muscle.

Then there was Corvine. The guy was handsome enough to make pretty much any woman do a double-take, but he was completely impossible to tempt no matter what she tried.

No outfit was too revealing, no smile too flirty, no matter how close she pressed in, he just didn’t react at all. It was like trying to seduce a solid block of stone.

Daisy had convinced herself that her explicit desires had to be because of the spell. There couldn’t possibly be any other reason.

When Corvine left, the disappointment stuck with her way longer than she ever expected, lingering like a bad taste she couldn’t wash out.

Then Damon showed up, and for one stupid, hopeful second, Daisy thought maybe fate was finally throwing her a bone. But nope, Damon turned out to be just as impossible.

Another ridiculously good-looking face, another emotionless wall she couldn’t break through. It was enough to make her want to scream and tear her hair out in pure frustration.

The sorceress who’d caused all this chaos had disappeared without a single trace right after casting the spell. Not even Noelle could track her down.

No one knew if the woman was alive, dead, or hiding out somewhere way beyond reach. As far as Daisy could tell, she was the only person who could actually undo the curse.

Of course, reversing it would probably demand some kind of brutal sacrifice—dark magic never came cheap.

For the first time in forever, Daisy couldn’t shake this sinking feeling that karma had finally caught up to her and was laughing in her face.

Her heart started pounding like crazy when Seraphine suddenly brought up the goldfish.

Daisy forced a confused little smile onto her face and tilted her head, trying to play it cool. “Sera… what goldfish are you even talking about? Did you just wake up from some weird dream or something?”

The question hung there in the air, thick and heavy. Before Seraphine could say another word, Ravyn strolled over with that calm, confident stride of his.

Without missing a beat, he slid his arm through Daisy’s and gently steered her toward the entrance. “The Alpha King’s here,” he said, his voice full of respect. “Come on, we should go welcome them properly.”

Daisy let out a quiet breath of pure relief, grateful the conversation had gotten cut off before Seraphine could dig any deeper.

Across the courtyard, Kael came around the corner wearing this huge, way-too-pleased-with-himself grin. “Luna Sera,” he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement, “you really know how to shut a bitch up with just one sentence. I swear, Daisy looked like she’d seen a ghost!”

A small smile tugged at Seraphine’s lips. Corvine stepped up and shook Kael’s hand warmly. “Good to have you here, man.”

Kael squeezed his hand back before letting go. “Happy to be here.”

Seraphine’s smile grew even bigger as Corvine remarked. “Now we’ve got another person to help punch an Alpha.”

Kael burst out laughing. “Count me in!” He had zero doubt that Voren would stop them if the moment ever came. Just imagining it was enough to keep him grinning.

Before they could keep joking around, voices started drifting across the gathering. Everyone turned instinctively toward the entrance. Ravyn was there welcoming the royal family with perfect manners, Daisy standing gracefully right beside him.

The Alpha King had arrived with his queen, his son, Jasper, the soon to be Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, and Princess Athaliah. The air around them felt heavier somehow, like it demanded attention without even trying.

Ravyn gave a respectful nod and turned slightly toward Daisy. “Princess Athaliah,” he said politely, “I’d like you to meet my soon-to-be Luna, Daisy. She’s admired you for years and would love the chance to become your friend.”

The usual confidence Ravyn carried around melted away under the princess’s intense gaze. Her presence was something else entirely. Power radiated off her so naturally that even the most experienced Alphas looked small standing next to her.

For the first time anyone could remember, Ravyn actually looked genuinely humble.

It wasn’t because of the Alpha King, his queen, or even the soon to be Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. It was all because of Princess Athaliah.

Everyone knew her reputation. If Athaliah wanted something, she got it. Very few people in the werewolf world dared to challenge her, and even fewer actually won.

Seraphine, Corvine, and Kael all turned toward the voices at the same time, their eyes locked on the royal family as they approached with that quiet, commanding confidence.

Every conversation around them died down into total silence. Curious eyes followed Princess Athaliah, everyone waiting breathlessly to hear what she would say next.

Then the princess opened her mouth, and her response left every single jaw in the place absolutely dropping.
