Chapter 490 You all should start stripping
Athaliah’s smug smile vanished the second she heard Alpha Killian’s deep voice behind her. She could not understand why it annoyed her so much even when she had never had a proper conversation with him before.
It was as if he was sent from hell to torment her.
Before she could even turn around, Daisy jumped right back in, determined not to let the game die. Her eyes locked onto Seraphine with fierce intensity.
“It’s not over yet. You still have to climb that hill and yell at the top of your lungs that you love Alpha Voren.”
Pure confidence flashed across Daisy’s face. She was absolutely sure Voren would reject Seraphine after getting publicly humiliated like that.
After all, Seraphine had kissed him, called him a terrible kisser in front of everyone, and then refused to pay him a single cent. There was no way a proud man like Voren would let that kind of disrespect slide without pushing her away.
Again, Voren had not even given Seraphine permission when she stole that kiss. After putting two and two together, Daisy concluded that Seraphine had just stolen the kiss whereas Voren did nothing because of their business relationship.
Ravyn had seen more than enough. That heated kiss kept replaying in his head over and over, and every single time it did, it felt like an invisible hand was squeezing his heart until he could barely breathe.
“This stupid game ends right now,” he growled, his voice booming across the gathering. “We’re not kids anymore.”
What he feared was Daisy facing more embarrassments from Seraphine, especially when the lapses around the pack had completely raided her of the respect of the pack members.
“Too late, Alpha Ravyn,” Corvine cut in smoothly, his calm tone slicing right through the thick tension before anyone else could speak. A faint smile played on his lips, but his eyes were sharp and far from friendly.
“You only want to stop the game because your mistress is losing badly.”
He folded his arms across his chest, standing his ground. “You stood there and watched my sister swallow her pride just to kiss your best friend. Your mistress started this game, and she’s going to finish it.”
Ravyn opened his mouth to argue, but Corvine didn’t give him the chance.
Instead, he stood up, turned toward Seraphine with an easy, warm smile and held out his arms. “Come on, Sera. I’ll carry you up the hill. It’s not like this is the first time.”
Without any hesitation, Seraphine stepped closer. Corvine scooped her up into his arms like she weighed absolutely nothing, holding her securely against his chest.
A quiet murmur rippled through the crowd as they watched. Athaliah found herself staring longer than she intended, completely caught off guard.
There was just something about Corvine, the quiet confidence, the steady strength, and the way he carried Seraphine so effortlessly. It all pulled her attention in a way she couldn’t quite explain.
Corvine started up the steep hill without slowing down even once. Even with Seraphine in his arms, his breathing stayed calm and even, like the climb was no big deal at all.
Athaliah couldn’t hide how impressed she was. “He’s incredibly strong for a beta,” she muttered, eyes wide as she watched him keep going. “That hill is no joke, and he’s carrying Luna Sera like she weighs nothing.”
Behind her, Alpha Killian’s eyes darkened with jealousy, his jaw tightening hard. Before he could say anything, Damon caught on with Athaliah and added with a big grin. “They actually look pretty romantic together,” he chuckled. “It’s kind of a shame they only see each other as siblings.”
By now, even the other groups which were made up of warriors and normal pack members were turning their heads toward the hill. Something clearly interesting was happening up there.
At the very top, Seraphine looked up at the moonlit sky, cupped her hands around her mouth, and shouted with every ounce of strength and emotion she had.
“Alpha Voren! I LOVE YOU!”
Her powerful voice, echoed through the mountains, ringing out loud and clear.
A heavy silence fell over the entire gathering. Not a single person dared to speak.
For Seraphine, this wasn’t just some silly dare. She had wanted to do this for so long.
The last time she had stood on a hill and shouted her love, those words had been meant for Ravyn. Back then, she never realized how deeply it had crushed Voren. Now she was replacing that painful old memory with something new and beautiful, one that belonged only to her and Voren.
Voren kept his face perfectly calm on the outside, showing nothing to the crowd. But inside, his heart felt like it was ready to burst wide open with overwhelming joy.
’You have no idea what this means to me,’ he sent through their mind link, his voice thick with raw emotion.
A soft, genuine smile stretched Seraphine’s lips as she answered gently. ’I know. That’s exactly why I did it.’
Kael watched Corvine carrying Seraphine back and taunted Ravyn. “Looks like Alpha Ravyn doesn’t have Luna Sera’s heart anymore.”
Ravyn’s eyes snapped toward him, his face hardening with anger. “Watch your mouth, Kael,” he warned, his voice dropping dangerously low. “Whose side are you on?”
Kael met his glare without a trace of fear. “I’m on the side of the truth.”
Ravyn scoffed and turned his attention to Voren instead. “Did you hear what your beta just said?”
Voren didn’t answer immediately and when Ravyn followed his gaze, his heart broke to see that Voren’s eyes stayed glued to Seraphine the whole time as Corvine carefully carried her back down the hill, refusing to let her feet touch the rocky ground even once.
The moment they returned to the bonfire, Corvine gently set Seraphine down. Seraphine took one step forward, her icy gaze landing first on Daisy before sweeping across the rest of her so-called friends.
“I completed the dare,” she announced, a satisfied smile curving her lips. She folded her arms across her chest. “Now it’s your turn. You all should start stripping.”
