The girl in the baseball cap, who was walking at the back, made a surprised remark as she looked at Anneliese.

Alexander was nearly seventy, with half of his hair white. He was of medium height, but his back was straight. He wore black–rimmed glasses, and the deep lines on his face made him look strict when he wasn’t smiling.
Being stared at by him, Anneliese felt like a kid who had gotten in trouble and was sent to stand before the principal.

Her steps were stiff, and when she finally stopped in front of them, she seemed nervous and

As he spoke, he reached for the flowers, but his elbow lightly nudged Anneliese’s back, pushing her closer to Alexander.
Holding the bouquet tightly, Anneliese stumbled a little and stopped right in front of him.

Anneliese laughed nervously and was about to explain, but a pale hand reached out and took the bouquet.
