Jasper’s handsome, aristocratic face only made Quinton sneer harder. In his eyes, the man was nothing more than a pampered pretty boy.
So what if he was tall? That didn’t make him strong. A weakling like that wasn’t worth fearing.
Quinton puffed out his chest, standing tall with all the bravado of a hero protecting a damsel.
Tatiana panicked, tugging on his sleeve to pull him back. “Quinton, don’t–don’t get involved p>
But to Jasper, that desperate tug looked like proof. Proof of intimacy. Proof of betrayal. He remembered the way they’d stood close together on the hillside, and his jaw clenched.
His lips pressed into a hard line. “Move p>
Tatiana grew more frantic. “Please, just leave. I’ll be fine. I know him. You should go p>
Quinton only stood taller, puffed with pride. “Leave? If I run now, I’m a coward! Don’t be afraid -what, did this pretty boy bully you? I’ll protect you p>
Jasper’s cold gaze slid past Quinton and locked on her. “Come here p>
Shaking, she obeyed, stepping toward him with trembling legs.
Quinton couldn’t hold back anymore. He swung a fist. “What kind of man hits a woman p>
But his punch never landed. Jasper caught his wrist effortlessly, grip like iron.
Quinton’s eyes widened. He swung with his other fist–only to be thrown, crashing into the floor with such force that chairs splintered around him. The entire restaurant turned to watch.
Red with pain and humiliation, Quinton roared and charged again.
But Jasper didn’t just beat him–he pinned him down and punished him. His movements were too fast, too precise, every blow heavy as stone. Within moments Quinton was bruised and broken, struggling to breathe.
Jasper’s suit was only slightly rumpled.
Tatiana tried again and again to reach them, but the waiters held her back. She could only watch, heart clenching, as Quinton was beaten to a pulp.
Jasper had been trained for this all his life–boxing, combat, even blood sport underground. Ordinary men were no match. Official source is.net

They weren’t even divorced yet, and already she was shamelessly humiliating him. First Bob, and now–this? A scavenger?
He spat his contempt. “Tatiana, you really don’t care who it is p>
“No, no–it’s not what you think! I didn’t–please, let him go p>
One desperate “Quinton p>
One pleading “please p>
The once–proud heiress of the Lowell family, bowing her head for a vagrant. She hadn’t even begged when he’d sent her to the reform school.
His eyes darkened with a storm that nearly swallowed him whole. He opened his mouth to speak–only to feel his ankle grabbed.
Quinton.
Half–broken, bloodied, but grinning through the pain, holding on tight. “Don’t beg him. He’s just jealous. Ha–he’s jealous of us eating together p>
Jealous.
Of course he was jealous. Any man could see it, Quinton thought, laughing until his chest hurt. “All this over one meal? If that makes you mad, then wait until we’re married–me and Su. We’ll have two sons! Let’s see how you like that p>
Tatiana’s breath caught. “Quinton p>
The words ignited Jasper’s fury. His eyes turned abyssal, brimming with violence.
“Married p>
“That’s right. We’re getting married p>
“Do you even know who she is p>
“I know better than you, pretty boy p>
Jasper’s face went dead cold. In the next instant, his foot lifted, ready to crush down.
Quinton tried to yank back but was too slow. Then another figure darted forward—Tatiana.

She threw herself in front of Quinton.
The polished leather shoe halted midair, hovering inches from her.
Quinton froze. The frail girl shielding him, tears streaking her face, eyes filled with pleading- his chest tightened. Did she… care for him?
He opened his mouth, but the sight of her broken voice stopped him. “Quinton, don’t… don’t say another word p>
Every syllable was soaked in fear.
For the first time, Quinton regretted his lie. “I—I p>
Jasper yanked her up roughly, his grip cruel enough to hurt. She didn’t dare make a sound.
Their eyes met, and she froze like prey under a predator’s gaze.
He asked only one question, low and sharp. “Come, or stay p>
It sounded like a choice. But it wasn’t one.
Quinton still tried, his voice hoarse. “Don’t go with him! He’s not a good man p>
