Chapter 57
Chapter 58 A Compromising Position
“Mom, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up p>
“Chandler! Is that girl with you p>
Chandler’s gaze turned cold. “What do you mean p>
“Don’t shelter her! She’s not for you to get involved with. Don’t drag the entire family down over a woman p>
Chandler looked out at the skyscrapers. A mocking smile appeared on his face. He said slowly, “Mom, I was forced to study abroad four years ago because of those same words, and I haven’t been back since. Are you really going to threaten me with that again? Is Jasper with you? You can tell him, if he doesn’t want her, there are plenty of others who do p>
He hung up and, for good measure, turned off his phone.
But when he turned around, he found Tatiana standing barefoot right behind him.
He froze. Had she heard all that?
“Tatiana p>
“You just… said… Jasper? Is he coming to make trouble? I’m going to get you involved. I’ll leave now p>
She had an instinctive fear of that name, and her whole body trembled.
Chandler gripped her shoulders. “You don’t have to go. Don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you. No matter what, his actions are illegal. And I am the best lawyer in all of Dalliston. I will not let him torture you anymore. Trust me p>
She shook her head. “No, you don’t understand his methods. I’ll ruin you. I have to go p>
Just as she turned to leave, the doorbell rang.
They both turned their heads.
Tatiana was visibly terrified, as if a monster was standing outside the door.
Chandler stepped forward. “You hide. Don’t be afraid. I’ll get it p>
He moved past her and opened the door.
“You took forever! My arms are killing me from holding this p>
Chandler stared at the person outside, his brow furrowed. “Molly? What are you doing here p>
Molly held up the takeout containers. “I heard from Quinton that you ordered from Serenity Tower. I figured you hadn’t eaten, so here I am! Your mom specifically asked me to remind you to eat at regular
times. ”

With that, Molly tried to walk inside.
But Chandler blocked her path. “Just give the food to me. You can go”
Molly’s eyes widened in confusion. Just as she was about to speak, her gaze went past him. She saw a blurry shadow suddenly duck behind the sofa.
Her face stiffened. It was just for an instant, but she recognized it was a woman.
Chandler actually had a woman in his apartment?
“Molly, just give me the food p>
Chandler was clearly on guard, using his body to block her view.
Molly suppressed the urge to question him and forced a smile. “Why don’t I eat with you? I haven’t eaten either p>
“There’s a good restaurant downstairs. You should go. The firm will expense it p>
With that, he shut the door.
Molly stomped her foot in anger, gritting her teeth. “Chandler! You’ll regret this!” ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ.net
She turned and left. As she walked, she pulled out her phone and made a call. The moment it connected, she said, “I saw her. There is definitely a woman in his apartment p>
Chandler came back in with the food and reassured her. “It’s okay. It wasn’t Jasper. You don’t have to hide p>
Tatiana slowly stood up, a thin layer of cold sweat on her forehead.
Seeing her state, Chandler’s anger at Jasper flared. He must have done something to make her so terrified.
“That was p>
“My assistant. You said you were hungry, right? The food from this hotel is pretty good. Come and eat p>
She let out a sigh of relief and slowly walked out. A sharp pain shot up from the bottom of her foot.
‘She had been so tense and afraid that she’d ignored her injured foot. Now that she relaxed, the pain flared
Chandler looked down and saw it. He immediately reached out to support her. “Don’t put weight on it! It’s bleeding again. Sit down p>
Just as she was about to sit, her injured foot caught on the sofa leg. She lost her balance and fell.
“Watch out!” Chandler grabbed her waist, and they both tumbled onto the sofa.
“Ow! That hurts!” She landed on top of Chandler, and her ankle twisted sharply, making her cry out in pain.
They were pressed close together. Chandler, seeing the face of the woman he loved this close, felt his heart

race.
Just as he was about to speak, the door was violently kicked open, slamming against the wall with a deafening crash.
Tatiana instinctively turned her head. Her blood ran cold.
Jasper was standing in the doorway, his face dark as he stared at them.
In his eyes, the position they were in was extremely intimate, as if they were locked in an embrace.
Tatiana, terrified, scrambled to get up, but in her panic, she just stumbled.
A shadow fell over her. Before she could react, her wrist was seized in a powerful grip. A violent yank nearly tore her arm from its socket, and tears of pain sprang to her eyes.
“How long were you planning to stay on top of him, hmm p>
Jasper was radiating a terrifying aura. His dark eyes were churning with a suffocating gloom, and his grip was utterly ruthless.
