Chapter 42
Chapter 43 The Price of Silence
She kept her promise. No matter what she encountered, she had never sought Zara’s help.
She slowly moved her gaze, looking at Jasper. When their eyes met, for one brief instant, she wanted to tell him the truth.
But she saw Bianca standing behind him.
That tiny, weak spark of light was extinguished by a downpour of cold water.
She heard her own voice say, “I’m fine. I’m all right p>
Bianca chimed in. “It’s good you’re okay. Everyone was so worried about you”
Jasper frowned and walked over. “Are you sure? I’ll give you one chance. Tell me what happened to you in there p>
Tatiana stiffly shook her head. “Just… normal treatment p>
Jasper glanced at the scene inside the room. It was a perfectly normal room, with nothing out of the ordinary.
L
But he didn’t know that this room was movable. With the turn of a mechanism, it would reveal the other side of the wall.
That place was hell.
Zara still felt that this rehab center was too strange, something was wrong. But since Tatiana said she was fine, she had to suppress her worry. “Let’s go. We’re going home p>
But Jasper said, “Tatiana, come here p>
Zara: “Hey, you p>
He shot her a cold glance. “She is currently still my wife. You’re overstepping p>
Zara was unconvinced. “Who would throw their own wife into a place like this p>
But Tatiana pushed her hand away and slowly walked toward Jasper.
Zara’s heart ached. “Tatiana, he’s not good to you. Don’t go over p>
“Zara… you should go home. I’m fine p>
She gave Zara a smile. No one could see that she was so unsteady she could barely stand.
Jasper had someone process Tatiana’s discharge papers.
His thinking was simple. Since a mistake was made, it should be corrected.
The car carrying Tatiana slowly drove away.

Bianca sat to one side, hypocritically taking her hand, and said with concern, “Your hand is so cold. Let me warm it up for you p>
While looking like she was warming her hand, her fingernails were in fact digging deep into her flesh.
Tatiana was indifferent.
This little bit of pain was nothing.
She had been given painkillers and adrenaline. All the pain was numbed.
At the very end, she had been willing to take that last shot.
Rowan had said: “Don’t you want to find that child? As long as you obediently take this shot and keep your mouth shut, I’ll tell you where he is. Otherwise, you’ll never know p>
All her struggles had ceased.
The car soon arrived at the Lowell family home, as Bianca had firmly insisted her sister come home to rest and recuperate.
Tatiana didn’t refuse. It would have been useless anyway.
As she was getting out of the car, Jasper stopped her. “That day, why didn’t you say she was a human trafficker p>
Tatiana pulled at the corner of her lips, saying very softly, “Because… I’m just bad. I’m no good p>
Jasper’s expression darkened, his tone mocking. “Have you forgotten your own past actions? Tatiana, no one would suspect you for no reason p>
Language was pale and empty.
When directed at someone who doesn’t care about you, words become sharp swords that stab back at yourself.
He was convinced she had done all those things in the past. It was like a sin stamped on her body that could never be washed off.
“Can I… go inside now? I’m very tired p>
The effect of the painkillers was about to wear off.
A dense, fine–needled pain was gradually surging up all over her body. She was about to collapse.
Jasper’s handsome face turned cold, his eyes filled with a gloomy haze as he stared straight at Tatiana. “Are you blaming me p>
She lowered her gaze. “I wouldn’t dare p>
Bianca turned, saw them talking, and instantly became alert. She immediately went over and hugged Tatiana’s arm, smiling. “Jasper, what are you and Tatiana talking about? Whatever it is, you can talk about it

Jasper suppressed his emotions. “Right. I’ll get going”
“Be careful on the road, Jasper! Text me when you get there p>
“Mhm p>
There were three of them. She was clearly the real Mrs. Jackson.
But at this moment, she was clearly the extra one.
Like an outsider, watching another woman flirt with her own husband.
Tatiana thought she would feel heartache.
But she didn’t.
She didn’t even have a heart anymore, so naturally, it couldn’t hurt.
After Jasper left, Bianca dropped her innocent and sweet expression, asking in a sinister, cold voice, “What did you just say to Jasper? Don’t think he’ll believe you if you tell him about what happens in the rehab center! Don’t waste your energy p>
Tatiana said nothing.
Bianca showed off smugly, “We’re getting engaged next month. I’ll invite you to be there, to watch the man you love become my husband with your own eyes p>
She still had no reaction.
Bianca was annoyed by the lack of satisfaction. She suddenly thought of that other matter and smiled maliciously. “I’m really looking forward to seeing what thing you’ll give birth to in ten months p>
Tatiana suddenly froze. Her blood ran cold, her entire body went icy, and her teeth chattered as she said, “What… did you do to me p>
Bianca smiled, full of pride. “Take a guess p>
Tatiana abruptly remembered that during the time she was unconscious, her body had felt strange.
