Chapter 80 Close Call
Especially when Jasper stepped out, Shawn nearly jumped out of his skin, almost dropping his phone.
His reaction was extreme, but Jasper didn’t find it odd. Connecting it to the hushed conversation he’d overheard, he offered a curt warning. “Don’t take things too far.” Jasper simply assumed Shawn had gotten carried away with some rough play that resulted in a death needing disposal. He didn’t interfere in others‘ affairs. But out of respect for Moses, he gave the advice.
Shawn’s expression turned strange. He avoided Jasper’s gaze and mumbled, “Yeah, uh, just… some of my guys got a little carried away, things went too far. I’m just cleaning up the mess.
Jasper had no interest in the details. He gave a noncommittal grunt and turned back towards the party.
Shawn stood rooted to the spot until Jasper was gone, finally letting out a breath. His back was drenched in cold sweat. “That was close… he almost heard. I’d be dead p>
Back in the private room, the deafening music grated on Jasper’s nerves. The irritation he’d tried to suppress earlier surged back, stronger this time.
“Jasper, where did you go? I was just looking for you p>
“What is it p>
“Let’s have a toast!” Bianca poured him a drink, smiling. “I’m so happy today p>
Looking at her beaming face, Jasper didn’t refuse. He clinked glasses with her and downed the drink in one gulp.
The party lasted late into the night. Jasper eventually led a tipsy Bianca away.
In the car, she whined playfully, “Jasper, I don’t want to go home. Mom will be mad. I drank too much. I don’t want to go home p>
He sighed. “I’ll get you a hotel room then p>
“No! Jasper, I don’t want to stay in a hotel. Can’t I stay at your place p>
He paused, then looked down and agreed quietly, “Fine p>
The driver changed course, heading towards the manor.
Throughout the ride, Bianca clung to him, using her drunkenness as an excuse to tug at her clothes. “Jasper, I’m so hot p>
He took off his jacket and draped it over her. “Don’t catch a cold p>
Bianca nearly exploded with frustration. What is wrong with this man? Can’t he take a hint? She needed to seal the deal as soon as possible, solidify her position, and more importantly… She subtly touched her
stomach.
“Jasper, I like you so much! Do you like me?” She hugged his arm, her voice coy.

Jasper stiffened slightly but didn’t answer directly. Instead, he helped her into the guest room. “You’re
drunk. Get some rest p>
Just as he turned to leave, she threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him from behind. “Jasper, don’t go, please p>
“Be good. I still have some work to finish. You go to sleep p>
Using work as an excuse, Bianca couldn’t push further and reluctantly let go.
Jasper retreated to his study and stayed there for a long time, actually finishing some non–urgent tasks. Keeping busy temporarily suppressed the uncase in his heart.
When he finally stopped, it was already three in the morning p>
As he stepped out of the bathroom, he saw someone lying in his bed. Bianca had pulled down her clothes, revealing a tempting shoulder.
He stopped in his tracks. “Bianca, what are you doing here p>
Bianca slowly sat up, moved closer, and wrapped her arms around him. “Jasper, don’t push me away, please p>
The hand he had raised to stop her paused.
Bianca slowly looked up, her cheeks flushed. “Jasper, we’re getting married soon. I’ve waited for you for four years, waited for this day. I’m so happy. I’ve always dreamed of marrying you, of having a happy life together p>
Each word struck Jasper’s heart like a warning bell. The wavering he’d felt because of Tatiana was pulled back into line. He reminded himself repeatedly: Bianca was the one he had promised his life to. He owed her too much.
Seeing his resolve soften, Bianca pressed her advantage. “Jasper, please… want me p>
He sighed softly. “You don’t have to be so careful.” He scooped her up, gently placed her back on the bed, and leaned over her.
Bianca looked at him shyly. “Jasper, be gentle p>
A soft kiss landed on her face. Bianca closed her eyes, eagerly anticipating what would come next.
But she waited… and waited. The man above her made no further move.
Jasper sat up, pulled the covers over her, and said quietly, “Bianca, let’s wait until the wedding p>
She almost screamed in frustration, barely maintaining her gentle, shy facade. Why won’t he touch me? Is it because of Tatiana? Even though she’s …
“Bianca, sleep now. I’ll be in the study p>
With that, he stood and left the room.

Bianca nearly shredded the bedsheets. “Damn it p>
Jasper didn’t go to the study. His feet carried him, seemingly of their own accord, towards the maid’s Newest update provided by.ne.
He pushed open the door and looked at the empty, immaculately clean space. His dark, jade–like eyes held an unreadable depth of emotion.
He stood there for a moment, then chided himself for his foolishness and turned to leave. As he did, a dark red stain under the edge of the bedsheet caught his eye.
