Chapter 264 Memories.
*~Aurora’s POV~*
“So tell me about Aurora.” I sat down, ready to listen to how amazing I was. Because I know I was amazing.
“Well… Aurora was pretty strong,” Leon started.
“I told you, you will use the stick. You will act it out like it is a movie. You will talk with ego and passion. Are you passionate about me?” I asked as he looked at me.
“No—no. I don’t really know how to start. Because talking about Aurora is a very complicated and almost… smarter”
“Wow. Was I really that tough?” I said.
“Trust me, you were more than tough.” He continued, “Aurora was a very strong character, I would say.”
He started from how strong she was, to how fierce she is—and still is. He looked at me, and my smile flushed.
“She conquered anybody that came her way. And her powers… they had no limits.”
He said that, and I stared at my hands, hoping I still had those powers he was talking about.
“How did you meet her?” I asked.
“Aurora saved her pack from a witch called Dahlia. She trapped almost all of the wolves in their wolf form—except for her Alpha. Then Alpha Caden. And Aurora knew whatever her coven leader was doing was bad. So she betrayed her coven leader and came to help us. She helped our Alpha, and on the boat she released all of us from the curse Dahlia placed on us.
“And then, the leader of the coven got betrayed and cast Aurora out. Then Aurora became one of us. She was accepted into the High House—but only by the council. The wolves still did not like Aurora. They hated her. They bullied her. They casted her away.”
“Hmmm… So how did you two start your adventure of love, I mean?” I said.
He took another deep breath.
“One day Aurora was standing right in front of the High House, soaked by rain. She was too afraid to run inside the rain. I saw her—she has always caught my eyes—with her long red hair and her fierce personality. I don’t know which one caught my eyes more. Then I took off my shirt and put it over her head. And then we both walked into the High House. I was shielding her from the rain.”
“Oh my God, that’s exactly how I want to meet my future husband,” I said.
“Well… my husband.”
And then I hit him lightly, and he smiled softly.
“Since then, Aurora and I became friends. I wasn’t like the other wolves. I was different. I helped her. And we came so close. We fell in love… but we had to keep it a secret. Because wolves and witches don’t fall in love.”
He said that, and then my stomach dropped.
I was married to him already… so that means we broke a rule.
“So did we break the rule?” I asked. And then he took a deep breath.
“Not… exactly. We did more than break a rule. I can’t go into the news further. We need to sleep,” he suddenly said, as his eyes flashed something, and then he dropped the stick.
“No! Leon, we can’t finish now!”
“I’m tired, Eric. I need to go and sleep.”
“What happened?”
After I just saw he broke the rule, I stared at him, hoping he would tell me the truth. But he just removed his gaze from me. Then Kovu growled as he jumped off my lap and laid on the ground. I just stared at Leon as he laid on the floor, and then he turned his back to me.
Something must have definitely happened that he did not want me to know.
But… do I also want to know?
No. If it’s something that I am meant to know, he would have told me. And if he’s keeping it away from me, then it’s going to be for a good cause. I nodded to myself, and then I just slept next to him. I turned my back to him and let him sleep.
The next morning, the sun was reborn. The early sun shined exactly on my face. As I got up, Leon was already up. He was shirtless and sharpening a knife, continuing to build our house. I glared at his muscles—they were hard, toned, and built like a man.
I got up too, and I started taking off my clothes, and he stared at me.
“What are you doing?”
“Taking off my clothes,” I turned to him.
“Why are you taking off your clothes?”
“Because I want to also work. If I’m a man, you’re taking off your clothes all sweaty, and I’m supposed to be all sweaty too, showing off my abs.”
“Have you forgotten? You’re not a man like me. You have breasts. And you’re a woman—a woman pretending to be a man. If a man can show his chest, why can’t a woman show her own chest?” I barked at him. “The double standards.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose.
“No. A woman can’t show her chest. The breasts are not meant to be seen by anyone. Stop it, Aurora.”
“Eric,” I corrected him. “I am a man. Eric can show his chest. Aurora can show her chest.”
I almost took off my huge jacket, remaining in just the two shirts on my chest, and Leon glared at my chest before managing to pull his eyes away.
“Put your jacket back on, Aurora. Please.” He begged.
“Fine.”
I wore my jacket back.
“So what? I will remain in these oversized clothes while you’re busy showing off your body?”
“Well, your body is not meant to be seen by anyone except me,” he said.
“Hm? You? Why?”
“Because I am your husband.”
“I can’t remember our wedding. So you are not technically my husband.”
“Well, do you want us to get married again?” he asked.
I stared at him. “Do you want us to get married again?” he repeated.
I took a deep breath. “I don’t have that time. Men don’t marry men.”
I sneered at him, and he rolled his eyes.
Then Kovu jumped out of nowhere and started licking my body.
