Chapter 199

Celena’s POV Fighting this pack of wolves blocking our path proved far more difficult than I’d anticipated. These weren’t wild beasts lunging on instinct. They were trained, coordinated, powerful, with claws sharp enough to slice through flesh. This was an organized pack. I locked eyes with one who’d reverted to human form—a bald, towering figure with bulging muscles, radiating raw strength. But… his movements were clumsy, his reactions a split-second slower than the others. My chance. I immediately applied the technique Lily had taught me: avoid direct confrontation. Instead, I exploited my smaller, more agile frame, constantly shifting position to create distance. Then, seizing an opening, I’d lunge forward, my claws tearing bloody gashes into his flesh. This approach worked well at first. Soon, his body bore several fresh wounds, blood streaming freely. While none were fatal, the steady loss of blood would surely weaken him. Enraged, he growled and shifted back into wolf form. A common black male wolf, smaller than the gray wolves Ethan and the others transformed into, but still significantly larger than me. Even as a wolf, his movements retained a hint of that clumsiness. My heart leapt with joy, and I continued my old tactic, circling him and waiting for an opening to strike. But in the next second, I knew I was wrong, completely wrong! Just as I tried to brush past him from the side again, his seemingly clumsy body suddenly turned around with an incredible speed and flexibility! The gaping mouth carried a fishy smell, not biting towards the neck or limbs I had expected, but… Bite my Wolf head directly! I didn’t have time to react at all. My entire head, including my mouth, was tightly bitten by his huge Wolf’s mouth! A powerful force came, and he effortlessly threw my entire body to the ground as if dealing with a disobedient little wolf cub! “Thud!” I crashed to the ground, dazed and disoriented. Before I could struggle, a heavy, sharp-clawed paw slammed down on my chest. The claws instantly pierced through fur and muscle, sinking deep! Agonizing pain! Suffocation! Warm blood gushed out immediately. It’s over. I’m dying. Brett, I’m coming to you… The thought surged uncontrollably. Jacob’s POV Though I couldn’t fathom why those bastards stole Brett’s body, there was no time to dwell on it. The pack was in chaos. Roars, howls, and pained whines echoed everywhere. A fierce battle raged at home! I had to get back immediately! Celena! She was still there! She absolutely couldn’t be harmed! I sprinted toward the wolf den at top speed, ignoring the protesting pain in my injured body from the overexertion. Anxiety burned like fire in my gut. Faster! Faster still! When I finally charged back into the clearing that had become a battlefield, the sight before me froze my blood instantly! A massive black wolf pinned a petite brown she-wolf beneath him, his claws sunk deep into her chest, his jaws still dripping with her blood! It was Celena! No!!! The string of reason has completely broken. I, a grey giant Wolf that seemed even larger than usual due to my rage, like a cannonball fired out of the barrel, directly rammed through the two wolves that were trying to stop me without any evasion. With an air of crushing everything, I lunged at that damned black Wolf in mid-air! Follow current novels on ⓝovelFind.net
