Kayla raised an eyebrow with a half smile. “Right? People keep saying I bully Marianna Walker and that I’m driving her to depression.
“Oh, and apparently I’m also the one who had Marianna and Davon jumped and beaten up. Honestly, I have no idea where all these rumors come from, but tons of people secretly call me vicious. I swear, I’m about to break down from all this injustice p>
Her tone was light, almost teasing. “Good thing there’s a camera today. Everyone can finally see exactly how I supposedly bully people. I’m dying to know myself p>
Ever since Marianna publicly called out Kayla for making classmates run errands, everyone knew the two didn’t get along.
Students trying to suck up to Kayla naturally started giving Marianna the cold shoulder, and before long, rumors spread that Kayla was bullying her.
After the whole rumor incident, Marianna and Davon got jumped right after. Most people immediately assumed Kayla was behind it.
Even though everyone was scared of Kayla’s family connections, that didn’t stop the gossip and trash talk behind her back.
Kayla didn’t really care. She had given Hailey some advice before, so whatever–let people talk.
But today, Marianna was clearly trying to set her up, and Kayla couldn’t wait to see how she planned to pin
this on her.
Marianna was freaking out inside. Davon was dead set on checking the footage, and Kayla wasn’t backing down.
Marianna’s only hope now was the teacher. “Teacher, I really do want everyone to know the truth, but class is about to start. Maybe we should just get started? I’d hate for this to mess up everyone’s learning p>
If I can just drag this out until after class, maybe everyone will forget,‘ Marianna thought. Then I can slip away and delete the footage.
But the teacher spoke up unexpectedly. “It’s fine. Today’s lesson is about looking at things objectively and finding the truth. Since we have the footage right here, let’s all watch it together and get to the bottom of this. Think of it as a practical lesson p>
Marianna’s fists clenched so tight her knuckles turned white, panic flooding through her. ‘Of course there’s a camera here. Just my luck, she thought bitterly.
Marianna had been so angry after getting jumped with no idea who did it that she’d been stewing in rage ever since. That’s why she hadn’t thought this through properly.
But now that the teacher had spoken up, there was no way Marianna could refuse. She trailed after the teacher and her classmates to watch the footage, desperately thinking, ‘Gosh, please let there be a blind spot. Please don’t let the camera catch everything between me and Kayla!

But reality crushed her hopes. The footage was crystal clear, showing Marianna walking right up to Kayla and Tania, then bumping into them and falling down on her own.
The truth came out in an instant.
The whole class started buzzing with gossip.
“Wait, didn’t Marianna just run into them herself? How’s she gonna turn around and blame Kayla p>
“Right? Look at her playing victim. If you didn’t see the video, you’d totally think she’s the one getting bullied p>
“Everyone knows Marianna and Kayla don’t get along, but I can’t believe she’d actually frame someone. That’s messed up p>
“We should stay away from her. What if she pulls this crap on us next? Not everyone’s gonna have security footage to prove they’re innocent p>
“Hey, you think those rumors about Kayla hiring people to beat up Marianna and Davon came from her too p>
“Probably. If Kayla really did it, why didn’t Marianna call the cops? But when people spread lies about Kayla, she went straight to the police and cleared her name. That’s pretty badass p>
“Yeah, Kayla might seem cold and proud, but at least she’s upfront about everything p>
“So what if she’s cold? So what if she’s proud? She’s the Sexton family’s heiress, she’s got every right to act like that. Unlike some people who don’t know their place and keep starting trouble with folks way out of their league p>
Every word hit Kayla and Marianna loud and clear.
Marianna wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Her fists clenched tight around her shirt hem, and she accidentally pressed against her half–healed injury, hissing from the sharp pain.
Kayla watched Marianna’s face turn pale–whether from pain or shame, she couldn’t care less. “Gotta say, these cameras are top–notch. Crystal clear footage,” she said with a smirk. “So, Marianna, now that everyone knows the truth, aren’t you gonna apologize p>
Marianna clutched at her shirt, eyes turning red and watery as she looked up with that wounded expression. “Kayla, I never said you hit me on purpose, and I never asked you to apologize,
“I’m the one who got hurt here. Why are you still coming after me? Is it just because Davon’s on my side? Is that why you’re targeting me and trying to humiliate me p>
When Marianna’s tears started falling, Davon couldn’t stand it. His heart ached for her as he glared at Kayla like she was the devil incarnate. “Kayla, I’m the one who got it wrong, okay? This has nothing to do with Marianna. Why are you being so aggressive p>
Kayla felt absolutely disgusted. ‘Does Marianna have the memory of a goldfish or what?‘ she thought, rolling her eyes. ‘Seriously, how does she forget what she just said that fast p>
Every single thing Marianna did or said basically told everyone that Kayla was bullying her. But now that the

truth was out and it was obvious Marianna had framed her, she was still playing the victim, all wounded and innocent.
Girl’s got professional victim energy,’ Kayla thought.
“Funny how when there’s no proof, I’m automatically a bully. Now we’ve got actual footage and all I want is an apology, but suddenly I’m being harsh? So basically, you guys are never wrong, huh?” Kayla shot back.
Payton jumped in, backing her up. “Davon, did you already forget how you came at Kayla a minute ago? She’s just asking for what’s fair. Wanting an apology isn’t too much, right? So why are you two suddenly acting all offended? The double standard here is ridiculous p>
Tania couldn’t hold back. “You guys are such hypocrites! Seriously, how can you be this shameless p>
Just as things were about to explode again, the teacher glanced at the clock and stepped in. “Alright, the truth’s out. That’s enough. It’s class time. Everyone back to your seats now p>
With the teacher shutting it down, Kayla and everyone else had no choice but to head back to their seats, no matter how pissed off they were.
Since Marianna wouldn’t apologize, Kayla would just have to get payback some other way. ‘Let’s see if you don’t end up regretting this,‘ she thought coldly.
Back in the classroom, old grudges flared up fresh. Class A and Class G split to opposite sides of the room like rival gangs claiming their turf. A clear divide cut right down the middle, like some invisible wall nobody wanted to cross.
Marianna technically belonged to Class G, but Davon pulled her straight into the Class A section like she belonged there.
The teacher barely reacted. She’d clearly seen this drama before. She just started teaching like nothing happened, not even trying to case the tension.
Kayla blinked in surprise when Payton came over and sat down right next to her and Tania, completely ignoring the whole divide like it was nothing.
