Chapter : 200

Now, with Davon’s demanding kisses, that accumulated heat found its outlet. She couldn’t hold back anymore. Her arms wound around his neck as she kissed him back with equal fervor.
The cool night air seemed to warm around them, charged with an unmistakable intimacy.
Night had fallen completely. Under the dim glow of the streetlamps, Kayla dragged her exhausted body slowly toward home.
She turned the corner and froze. Just a few steps from her house, two figures stood tangled together in an embrace.
They were utterly lost in each other, completely unaware of her presence.
Kayla’s mouth twitched violently. ‘What sin did I commit for God to punish me by making me witness this filthy spectacle in the middle of the night,’ she thought. ‘My eyes are contaminated.‘
She decided she couldn’t suffer alone.
Kayla decisively pulled out her phone and captured the scene from every angle, recording their passionate encounter in full detail.
Such premium entertainment shouldn’t be enjoyed by her alone. She absolutely had to save it and share it with everyone else for their collective appreciation.
She was practically a living saint, always so generous in helping others enjoy life’s little pleasures.
After she finished reviewing her handiwork on her phone, the entangled Marianna and Davon had reluctantly separated. They hastily straightened their disheveled clothing and slowly walked toward her.
Marianna and Davon exchanged intimate glances, chatting and laughing with easy confidence. The scene formed a stark contrast with Kayla, who was exhausted from studying late into the night.
Kayla’s gaze lingered on Davon’s face, surprise flickering through her mind. ‘Just days ago, Davon was stressed out of his mind about those thugs getting arrested,‘ she thought.
‘He was terrified they’d rat him out as the one who paid them to hurt me. So how the hell is he making out with Marianna right now, looking like he doesn’t have a care in the world? It’s like he’s completely forgotten those thugs are sitting in a police station.’
Something felt distinctly wrong.
Marianna’s sharp eyes caught sight of Kayla first. Her heart jumped, and the words tumbled out before she could stop them. “Kayla, what are you doing here?”
Her mind raced. ‘Did Kayla just see me kissing Davon? How much did she see? If Tristian finds out I’m with Davon right now-
Panic clawed at her chest. She needed a strategy, fast.
Kayla rolled her eyes and pointed toward Sexton Villa. “This is my house? Do I need your permission to come home now?”
She paused, letting the silence stretch before adding with deliberate slowness, “Besides, you two are the ones lurking around my front door this late at night. Someone might think you were up to something-”
Kayla dragged out the last word, watching their faces change. The guilt was written all over them.
But she didn’t miss the flash of murderous intent in Marianna’s eyes.
‘Murderous intent?‘ she thought, puzzled.
Marianna hated her, sure–but to display such naked murderous intent startled Kayla. She wasn’t afraid, though. If anything, she felt curious.
She found herself wondering what could have triggered such a violent thought in Marianna.
Kayla’s fingers found the dagger she’d prepared in her pocket. She smiled, her voice slow and measured. “I thought you two were here to rob me.”
Davon and Marianna exchanged a quick glance. Relief washed over their faces.
They clearly thought Kayla hadn’t seen what they’d been doing. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have said that.
Kayla caught every flicker of emotion that crossed their faces. Her lips curved in knowing amusement.
‘So Marianna’s afraid I caught her affair with Davon,‘ she thought. ‘They’ve got some nerve–fooling around right outside my door. Aren’t they worried Tristian might find out?‘
The realization hit her, and suddenly that flash of murderous intent made perfect sense.
She felt a cold satisfaction settle in her chest. ‘Marianna isn’t just afraid I saw her with Davon,‘ she thought. ‘She’s terrified I’ll tell Tristian. Now that’s interesting.’
