Chapter 360
She showed no reaction. Instead, she calmly took out a notebook Rylie had given her — one filled with highlights and notes from her senior year. Stacey had once used this same notebook to pull through her exams and reach the top of her class.
As Melany flipped through the pages, she was stunned. Rylie’s notes were crystal clear, rich with insight, and so easy to follow. There was no way someone this sharp had ever ranked last in school. Obviously, Rylie had been smeared all along.
A wave of sympathy washed over Melany. How could someone so kind have endured so much cruelty?
Thankfully, Rylie now had people who stood by her.
Meanwhile, in Brad’s car, Rylie had received a memory card. On her way to the airport, she slotted it into her laptop and opened the footage.
The screen showed Stacey in tears, apologizing and confessing everything. Rylie watched quietly until the end, knowing Stacey would spend 25 years behind bars.
Her phone started buzzing nonstop. Friends who knew the truth sent her messages of support. Many condemned Stacey’s actions.
The video had gone viral.
Social media was flooded with headlines: “Shocking Twist! Rylie’s Truth Uncovered After Years of Injustice!”
In the video, Stacey confessed it all — falsifying evidence, turning the Kirk family against Rylie, and exploiting their trust to destroy her.
Each word landed like a blow to everyone who had judged, shunned, or hurt Rylie — especially the Kirk family.
The Kirks had somewhat realized Stacey wasn’t as kind as she appeared. But hearing these vile deeds from her own mouth hit Tessa the hardest, which caused her to fall ill.
She slumped onto the couch and looked at her three sons, their faces worn and heavy with guilt. “What have we done?” she whispered.
Leland, who had been the first to see through Stacey, remained the calmest. “Mom, we’ve lost two sisters. If we had just listened to Rylie when it mattered, we wouldn’t be here now.”
Nicolas, still recovering, looked pale. He lowered his head. “It’s our fault.”
Phillip sat on the floor, his eyes empty. “For a sister who was nothing but charming on the surface… we sacrificed the one who was truly gifted.”
A shadow hung over the Kirk family. But regrets, at this point, meant nothing. As the news continued to spread, the Kirks issued public statements, expressing their remorse and offering heartfelt apologies to Rylie.
Slowly, those who had once judged her began to change their tone. Some even reached out online to apologize.
Rylie saw the messages. She tried to call Brad, but his phone wouldn’t connect — he was likely busy.
At the airport, she slipped on her sunglasses, carrying only her laptop and a medical kit. She made her way to the VIP lounge and waited.
