Chapter 473
“I’ve been swamped for months. Today’s my first real break.” He casually threw his arm around her shoulder. “You should slow down too. Let me take you out for a bit.”
She lifted one brow. “Where exactly?”
Deandre flashed a playful grin. “You’ll see.”
He drove with her seated beside him, pushing the speed limit until they arrived at an enormous stadium. Even from a distance, the blaring music and wild cheers from the crowd filled the air.
Up on a giant LED screen, a flashy preview rolled. It featured a group of young men dancing under intense lights. Some looked model-perfect. Others radiated charm or warmth. Each one moved with a bold, eye-catching energy. The way they stared into the camera stirred up screams from the crowd outside.
“Ta-da!” said Deandre, snapping his fingers. He held up two VIP tickets with a flourish. “NovaRush live. Hottest band in the country! Let’s give your brain a break and admire some real eye candy.”
Rylie took in the buzzing crowd and the electric atmosphere. She arched a brow, caught somewhere between a sigh and a chuckle. “This is your idea of taking me out?”
“Absolutely!” he said, pulling her through the throng with practiced ease. He led her into a special lane that brought them right up to the front of the stage. “Look at those guys. Way better bodies than the dull frame you’ve been staring at for months. This is what a real man should look like.”
Dull frame? She blinked. Was that a jab at Brad?
Was he still hung up on the idea that she was in love with Brad?
They settled into the VIP seats just as the entire stadium went dark. The lights cut out without warning, leaving the crowd in a hush. Then, a single spotlight broke through, hitting the center of the stage with sharp precision.
As the bass kicked in, a slow mechanical rise lifted the platform. Five performers appeared, dressed in shimmering outfits studded with metal and diamonds. The lighting highlighted…
Narrow waists and strong arms, putting their physiques on full display. The crowd erupted into chaos. Screams echoed everywhere.
The beat exploded, and the group moved with startling precision. Every nod, spin, and jump came off flawless. The timing was so tight that it sent a jolt through the crowd. Sweat began to streak down their temples. Under the glare of the lights, their sculpted jaws shimmered faintly, catching the gaze of fans too dazed to look away.
When the lead singer climbed to a high note, his whole neck tensed. The dancer in the center landed a flip with no wasted movement, his chest heaving lightly with every breath. During a brief lull, one of the members — his skin a warm bronze — smirked straight at the camera. It was a look that sent a thrill racing through the audience.
“Whoa!” Deandre gave a low whistle and leaned toward Rylie, raising his voice over the pounding speakers. “Look at them! Impressive, right?”
He nudged her with his elbow, his grin wide and playful. “Just say the word. Got your eye on one? I’ll make it happen.” He spoke like he meant it. “I’ve got a few people in the business. You want a private show? A picture? Dinner with one of them? Anything. Just name it!”
