He finished speaking, then turned and left; he locked the cabin door again.
Natalie hurried over to her and helped Beth to her feet.
“Are you okay?”

She never would’ve imagined Beth would deliberately provoke the man in black, only to get beaten and tossed back in here.
Seeing the gash on Beth’s arm split open again, Natalie’s brow knit tight.
Beth wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and said quietly, “I’m fine. Here.”
She stuffed a phone into Natalie’s hand. Natalie froze for a beat, surprise flashing in her eyes.
“Where did you get this?”
“Off that guy in black just now. Their passcodes are all the same–four twos, four sixes. Boot it up, fast; you’ve got at most thirty seconds. After thirty seconds I’m tossing it into the sea. We absolutely cannot let them realize a phone was used in here.”
Beth’s hand trembled; she was visibly on edge.
Hearing that, Natalie didn’t waste another word; she powered on the phone and quickly dialed a number out.
Beth didn’t leave. She noticed that what Natalie entered didn’t look like a phone number; she frowned slightly but didn’t ask.
Time was tight; if she distracted Natalie, they would both die,
Natalie sketched something in a rush, then sent the drawing out.
Beth never would’ve guessed Natalie’s drawing skills were that good!
It was a layout of the cabin’s floor plan. Natalie hadn’t set foot outside; how did she know the layout of this ship’s cabins?
Beth was baffled; she also realized that even if she hadn’t chosen to cooperate with Natalie, Natalie probably had her own way out.
This woman was anything but simple! For the first time, Beth regarded Natalie with a more

Natalie had no time to explain; when she finished, she hit the twenty–five–second mark, right on the dot.
Beth snatched the phone at once, then pried up a plank in the cabin floor.
Only then did Natalie realize there was a hidden window there.
Beth immediately pitched the phone out. The man in black outside seemed to notice his phone was missing.
He stormed over and banged open the cabin door; seeing Beth and Natalie sitting there, motionless, he had his men search them on the spot.
“Beth, did you steal my phone? Hand it over now and I can still keep this from Kasen; otherwise, you’re in for it.”
His eyes were vicious.
Beth let out a cold laugh. “Why would I take your phone? Once my goods are auctioned off, I’ll have
money to burn; I can buy my own phone. Why would I want yours? Maybe check if you dropped it somewhere.”
Hearing that, the man in black, fuming, raised his arm to hit Beth.
Just then, two more men in black rushed in.
“Boss, we tracked your phone. Looks like it fell into the sea; we also checked the signal logs for this stretch–no outgoing signal at all.”
The man in black hesitated.
“Fell into the sea?”
“Yeah, look at the location.”
He glanced at the coordinates his subordinate showed him and couldn’t help looking annoyed.
“Damn it; talk about rotten luck. Go tell Kasen, now.”
He spun on his heel and left, locking the cabin door again.
Meanwhile, Renee received the email Natalie sent.

The contents made her blink; then she saw a single character Natalie had drawn at the end.
She understood at once and immediately called Baron.
“Mr. Baron, I think I just got an email from Natalie–it’s a drawing. I’m sending it to you right ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ.net
now.”
Renee sent the sketch as she spoke. By then, Baron had already reached Ocevaris overhead.
When Baron took Renee’s call, he had been about to begin his descent.
Hearing Renee and Baron’s conversation, Rio paused, startled.
“Ms. Stone actually contacted someone else? Doesn’t she know

your
number? ”
At Rio’s question, Baron’s gaze hardened.
“No, she does. Precisely because she knows it, she didn’t send the message to me; she’s afraid of dragging me in.”
A sharp ache gripped his chest. You foolish woman … At a time like this, and she was still worried that exposing his identity as her godfather would draw police scrutiny?
Natalie had emailed Renee; even if someone traced it, she was Sunny’s designer and Renee was her employee. She had sent a drawing; it could be passed off as her design draft.
Because she knew Renee would definitely forward that sketch to him.
