Alpha’s Regret Marked By The Lycan King Chapter 164

Chapter 164 Unsuitable To Be A Daniels

Third POV

Asher moved quickly, his hands grabbing Finn’s wrists before the boy could reach for another piece of cake. Finn struggled against his father’s grip, his small face twisted with anger and hurt.

“Finn, stop it!” Asher hissed through gritted teeth. “That’s enough!”

Ashley shot up from her chair, helping her mother brush cake crumbs off her dress. The cake had missed its mark, but there were still some crumbs that landed. Her blue eyes blazed with indignation as she turned to face Asher.

“This is exactly what I’m talking about,” Ashley snapped. “Look at this child’s behavior! This is what happens when you don’t raise a child properly.”

She gestured dramatically at Finn, who was still squirming in Asher’s grip. “You and Estelle have completely failed as parents. The boy has no respect, no manners, nothing!”

Jessie nodded vigorously, still picking frosting from her hair. “I’ve always said it, and I’ll say it again. That boy’s real parents must have been terrible people.”

She pointed an accusing finger at Finn. “Bad blood always shows. You can’t polish a rotten apple and expect it to be sweet.”

“The child is wild and ungrateful,” Jessie continued, her voice growing sharper. “We’ve given him a home, food, clothes, everything. And this is how he repays us?”

Finn’s green eyes filled with tears, but his jaw remained set in defiance. He opened his mouth to shout again, but Asher’s firm grip held him in place.

Asher stared down at his son, a cold realization washing over him.

Had he made a terrible mistake?

The thought crept into his mind like poison. Fated mates were supposed to produce stronger, healthier children than chosen mates. That’s one of the reasons why he had a child with Hazel even though his family vehemently wanted him to marry Estelle instead. On top of the call towards his true mate, he knew that his offspring with Hazel would be infinitely stronger than whatever child he would birth with Estelle.

But Finn had turned out sickly and weak. The boy needed constant medication just to function normally. Without Estelle around, Finn was basically glued to the infirmary bed most of the time. On top of that, his personality was absolutely horrid.

Even Estelle, with all her patience and kindness, had finally given up on the child. If Estelle couldn’t handle Finn, then maybe the problem ran deeper than just upbringing.

Asher’s mind drifted to his recent interactions with Hazel. He recalled her demanding attitude at the shopping mall, and her constant complaints about Estelle despite his reassurances. She had turned into someone with spoiled behavior and unreasonable expectations.

Maybe his mother was right. Maybe children really did inherit their parents’ worst traits.

His expression grew grim as he tightened his grip on Finn’s wrists.

Dorothy slammed her hand down on the dining table. The sound echoed through the room like a gunshot.

“Enough!” she declared, her voice cutting through the tension. “This child should not be the heir to the Moonveil Pack. Not with behavior like this.”

Her sharp gaze moved from Finn to Asher. “We need to find a different successor. Someone with proper breeding and manners.”

Jessie’s eyes suddenly lit up with excitement. “Wait a minute,” she said, her voice gaining enthusiasm. “Didn’t Estelle mention something earlier? Before dinner?”

She turned to face Asher directly. “She said her body isn’t actually infertile. Is that true?”

Asher frowned. “I wasn’t present for her recent medical examination.”

“Well, you need to confirm it,” Jessie pressed. “You were the one who told us she was infertile in the first place.”

Her voice grew more animated. “If Estelle can have children, then everything changes! You two can finally have your own biological children.”

Jessie gestured dismissively at Finn. “We won’t have to deal with some random warrior’s ungrateful child anymore. He’s too weak and sickly to become the next Alpha anyway.”

“Plus, look at his attitude,” Ashley added with disgust. “He’s completely uncontrollable.”

Finn’s eyes widened with alarm as he understood what they were discussing. He stopped struggling against Asher’s grip and instead wrapped his small arms around his father’s leg.

But he didn’t say a word. He just held on tightly, his green eyes filled with fear.

Ashley nodded approvingly at her mother’s suggestion. “Asher, you should prepare the paperwork immediately. Send this child back where he came from.”

Asher’s jaw clenched. “Finn’s birth parents are dead. I already explained this when we adopted him.”

“Then find other relatives,” Jessie said impatiently. “Aunts, uncles, family friends. Someone must be willing to take him.”

She crossed her arms over her chest. “I don’t care who it is or where they live. We want this child out of our family.”

Dorothy nodded in agreement. “The boy is clearly not Daniels material. It’s better for everyone if he goes somewhere more… suitable.”

Finn’s grip on Asher’s leg tightened. His small body began to tremble, but he remained silent.

Asher looked down at his son, then back at his family members. The weight of their expectations pressed down on him like a heavy stone.

Jessie stepped forward, her voice firm and final.

“No matter what it takes, no matter what arrangements need to be made,” she declared, “Finn must be sent away from the Daniels family.”
