Chapter 43
Chapter 7
After I’d had my fun, I rubbed my sore hands.
Looking down at the two of them huddled together.
“Lincoln Ashford, you can run off with your little mistress if you want p>
“But first you need to give back everything that belongs to my family p>
Where the cameras couldn’t see, Lincoln flashed a mocking smile.
“Zara, you really are just a child. I’m your father–isn’t your family my family too p>
“If daddy really owes you anything, I’ll just give it back now p>
I shook my head.
Pointing at his clothes, I said:
“This suit was a gift from a designer who’s friends with the Rodriguez family. Without the Rodriguez name, you don’t deserve to wear it p>
Then I pointed at his shoes:
“Those shoes were made by my grandfather’s family cobbler. Take them off too p>
With every sentence I spoke, Lincoln’s face got uglier.
At first he went along with it and started removing his clothes.
But when I pointed at his underwear, he finally slammed his hand on a table in rage:
“Zara Rodriguez, I’m your father! Don’t go too far p>
He’d noticed that the crowd’s cameras had shifted from me to him.
After all, a sixty–year–old man stripping in public was way more exciting than ordinary family drama.
I shrugged:
“Didn’t you say you’d give it back to me? Why aren’t you giving it back now p>
Quinn, thinking I was still as easy to bully as this morning, put on her fake innocent act:
“Zara, what happened this morning was mommy’s fault. Mommy just loves your daddy too much and got carried away p>
“Don’t blame him anymore, okay p>
That reminded me she was there, so I told her:
“I forgot to mention–when my dad married my mom, he signed a contract. If he remarries, he won’t get a penny of my family’s money p>
Quinn clutched her stomach, her face turning pale.
“Don’t let this old man scam you out of money and sex, then regret it later p>
Her face went ashen, but when she noticed Lincoln looking over, she flashed him a pleasing smile:
“Zara, don’t talk nonsense. Your daddy and I are true love p>
I looked at her belly with an amused smile.

Lincoln was shaking with rage, looking like he was about to pass out.
I had the doctors behind me on standby in case the old man tried to pin something on me.
Quinn also clutched her stomach dramatically, breaking out in a cold sweat as she lay to one side.
He pointed at me with a trembling finger:
“Zara Rodriguez, I’m calling the police p>
“ If anything happens to my precious baby, I won’t let you get away with it p>
“ I’ll have the officers deal with an ungrateful daughter like you p>
I gave my bestie a look, and she flashed me three fingers.
Thirty more minutes until Grandma arrived.
I immediately relaxed.
I found a chair to sit in and leisurely sipped coffee while watching Lincoln fuss over that slightly rounded belly.
Soon Quinn was wheeled in for an ultrasound.
Lincoln slipped a bank card to the doctor who’d mocked me earlier.
The doctor got the hint and said loudly:
“Mr. Ashford, your baby is active and lively–what a perfect son p>
Lincoln’s eyes immediately lit up.
He forgot he was in a hospital and threw back his head laughing while hugging Quinn.
Only when a nurse told him to quiet down did he sheepishly close his mouth.
He turned to me triumphantly:
“You mother and daughter looked down on me, but now I have an heir p>
“I have my own son! What are you two worth now p>
I quietly shook my head.
