Rejected Luna: Untamed Desire Of The Lycan Alpha Chapter 310

Chapter 310

“Gilderoy, you are needed at the office of the head guard. He has summoned you and wants to talk to you about something.” Another guard called out. His expression fell when he saw Gilderoy hugging the prisoner. He said with a frown, “I know that you are used to having your way around this prison, but you better not touch these two women; they are connected to a high-profile case. If you dare to touch them without the permission of Dean, that man would peel a layer off your skin.”
Gilderoy frowned. He glanced at the woman in his arms, though his mind kept telling him to make this woman kneel and suffer for him; something held him back.
Let her stay here, worrying about what I might do to her. That way, her mind would become a mess, and it would become easy for me to break her.
He curled his lips and patted Inez on the cheek. “I will come for you later, my darling.” He then let go of Inez and turned around to walk out of the prison cell. The clang of keys echoed down the corridor before the iron door was slammed shut behind by the guard. However, before leaving, Gilderoy turned around and licked his lips suggestively. His footsteps faded with the passing of each second, but that disgusting stare of his remained behind.
Inez slid down the bars, her hands and knees hitting the floor with a soft yet hard thud. Scarlet crawled over to her. Her hands were shaking as she softly called out to Inez, “What did you do? What did you do — why did you do that? You know that he will come for you, right?”
Inez pulled her hands back and rolled back on her heels. Every muscle in her body was aching. But her gaze was much firmer, and when she raised her head, Scarlet knew that it was not Inez but Nerina. “I know, but she doesn’t want you to get hurt because of her.” A pause, and she looked around the grimy walls, with water dripping down from the edges. “And if she stayed here any longer, she would have passed out. You know that.” Get full chapters from.net
Scarlet pursed her lips as she stared at the golden eyes that were shimmering in the darkness. She clenched her fists, trying to anchor the horrible realisation of the danger that her sister had once again taken to protect her. “Why did you do it, Nessie? You did the same thing last time when Dominic threatened you with me. You don’t have to protect me. I can take this on—I can let those men—”
“No!” Nerina and Inez’s voices echoed in the dungeon at the same time. Nerina reached out and grabbed the hands of her sister; she gripped Scarlet so hard that she winced. “That man wants me, so even if he wishes to break me, he will leave me alive—in case something like that happens. But you are different. He won’t hesitate to kill you. It’s better if I take on his wrath and twisted desires rather than letting you face it.” She tilted her head with a ghost of a smile lingering on her lips. “Don’t look so horrified; even if he tries to break me, he won’t kill you.”
“Yes, that’s because he will leave you alive with just one breath until he is done with you,” snapped Scarlet, sounding horrified at the very notion. She shook her head and dropped her voice before saying, “You are being way too confident, Nessie, but you cannot fight whips and daggers with words alone.”
Inez’s eyes glimmered in the dim light, carrying something that made Scarlet’s back covered with sweat. “Of course, I cannot. But I don’t need to fight back,” she murmured, her voice carrying a low resonance that made Scarlet’s pulse quicken. “I only need that man’s ears, not chains.”
“You don’t have to act brave,” said Scarlet. As the silence stretched, broken only by the dripping sound of the water down the stone wall, Scarlet stared at her sister with a hint of tangled awe. Realisation hit deep when she realised that Inez had deliberately played with the guard to make him back off, letting him think that he was controlling the situation. When, in truth, it was Nerina who was playing him like a marionette.
The two of them were thinking of using the torment instead of worrying about surviving it. But—
“You are afraid.”
For a moment, there was silence. Then Inez slowly raised her head and nodded. In a voice that was too quiet to hear, she replied, “Yes.”
Scarlet blinked her eyes, startled at the sudden admission of his sister. She parted her lips, but before she could say anything, Inez interrupted her.
“But does fear matter?” said Inez with a hint of a frown on her face. Her voice sharpened again. “What matters is that— that man never sees it.”
Inez glanced at the darkness behind her. With the main entrance of the prison being closed off, the corridor had once again returned to darkness. With the security of this dungeon, Inez wondered how they would even get out of this place. With what happened, it seemed like the guards here were not afraid of tormenting or breaking the prisoners, which was not a good sign. If Killian didn’t come looking for her, she was worried that they might not succeed in getting out of here.
Pssh, who do you think I am? Nerina rolled her eyes, sounding disgruntled. I can totally deal with these guards.
’You are forgetting that our powers are not under our control,’ reminded Inez. If we exploit too much of our powers, I believe that we might lose control of ourselves. Tracy did tell me not to use my powers without properly learning how to use them.
Inez could still not recover from what Tracy told her days ago. She could charm Killian into believing that the two of them had formed an imprinting bond. Inez wondered what else she might do if she didn’t control her powers.
