Chapter 594

“You tell me.” Felicia rolled her eyes at Stephan, only to realize her voice was hoarse from the earlier ordeal .
Stephan got up and poured a glass of water. Supporting Felicia’s back with one hand, he held the glass steady and brought it to her lips. Felicia drank the entire glass in one go, finally regaining some composure.
That felt good.
“Do you want more ? ” Stephan lowered his head, gazing at her with a faint smile. His eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint, looking suggestive.
She had the distinct feeling that it was a double entendre.
Damn him!
Felicia tumed her face away and huffed in annoyance. “ That’s enough . More than enough ! ”
Stephan chuckled, his voice husky and magnetic, sending a shiver through her. Felicia could even feel his chest vibrating slightly as he laughed.
He lowered his head, his voice laced with humor as he whispered in her eat, “You brought this on yourself.
Felicia ground her teeth, wanting to hit him.
Stephan took the opportunity to slide under the covers, his body carrying a fresh, pleasant scent as he inched closer to her. “Then… I’ll let you bite me to vent your anger?
Felicia shot him a look After the craziness earlier, she almost bit his shoulder off. There were teeth marks all over it, and his back was a mess, covered in the scratches she had left behind.
She ground her teeth, but ultimately, she couldn’t bring herself to hurt him further. She asked, “You can see now ? That shouldn’t be possible. When I checked your pulse before , you were clearly blind because of poisoning.
At this point, Felicia’s expression became serious, and she suddenly came to a realization, “Was that all an act?”
Her diagnosis couldn’t have been wrong. Stephan’s pulse had indeed shown signs of poisoning that led to blindness. But now, if his eyes had healed, it meant…. he had an antidote.
To put it bluntly, the blindness was faked, the long coma was faked, and the claim from the two guards at the door that he was poisoned and close to death was certainly a lie!
Without a word, Felicia took hold of his wrist and checked his pulse. Sure enough, it was strong and steady, completely healthy with no signs of illness
“You deserve an Oscar , don’t you?” Felicia chuckled bitterly.
She thought back to all the times she had been worried about him and how she had spent so much time in the storage room at the clinic, trying to figure out an antidote to heal his eyes.
And what was the result?
She had just been overthinking everything!
Felicia was furious, but most of the anger had already dissipated after the earlier struggle. Now, looking at him, standing there with his perfect stature, the tension seemed to fade away naturally.
However,
she refused to show it, maintaining a cold expression and not even glancing at him.
As expected, Stephan panicked.
He leaned over her, nudging his head into her neck and kissing her forehead, eyelids, nose, and finally, her lips. He was trying to please her.
“Don’t be mad, my darling. I’m sorry. The coma was real before. The toxins were made by my people , but I didn’t expect to stay in that hospital for so many days, so the toxins did flare up then.
“After returning to Seldvale, I took the antidote, and my eyes healed. But I had to keep playing along to draw out the people scheming to the dark I didn’t reply to your messages because communications were being monitored, and I didn’t want you to be targeted.”
As he kept kissing her , he began to venture lower.
Felicia had been listening intently at first. After all , it was care for Stephan to explain so much in one go .
But gradually , she started to sense something was off. How did his explanation suddenly require wandering hands?
