Chapter 629

“I can’t talk calmly right now! I’m about to explode! Pete, you’d better give me an explanation!” The man in the black robe was clearly on the edge of losing control
hing major must h have happened.
Tu make someone like him lose control, something
And what the man in black was obviously fixated on was likely related to the group of women who had been kidnapped.
Pete, sharp as ever, quickly guessed what happened and asked, “Did they escape?”
“ They didn’t escape. They were fucking rescued! The mun in black was getting more and more furious. “I just returned to the basement and found that all the Jocks have been pried open. Everyone is fucking gone !”
The man’s anger was escalating, and even though his face was hidden , his voice canied a terrifying snarl, “The person who rescued them even left me a note! Do you know what’s written on it? Do you know what it says ?
A note that could make someone this angry had to be pretty impactful
Fete rubbed his forehead, feeling extremely agitated
Five hours earlier, Felicia borrowed a car from the Russell family and left with scarlet and two others. During the drive, Felicia kept her head down, fiddling with her phone and laptop.
Monkey’s last known location before he went missing was at
at the foot of a mountain, and there were no further leads .
Felicia opened the satellite tracking, zooming in on the mountain and carefully studying it.
Scarlet, while driving, asked, “Boss, do you think this will yield any results? It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
Without even lifting her head, Felicia replied, “We have no choice. It’s our only option left. The people behind this wouldn’t be hiding in some remote wilderness. They must have a base of operations.
“Let’s assume their hideout is on that mountain. Do they not eat or drink? They must go out at some point. So, we’ll find the easiest routes into and out of the mountain. Perhaps we’ll find some traces.”
Felicia carefully noted a few positions before finally lifting her head and stretching
After nearly an hour of driving, they arrived at the foot of the mountain where Monkey went missing. Five more mercenaries were already waiting there. When they saw Felicia get out of the car, they all greeted her, “Good evening, boss!”
Felicia nodded and asked, “Did you prepare everything I asked for ? ”
They all nodded and patted their backpacks. “Everything’s ready.”
“Then, let’s head into the mountain.”
Felicia was dressed in a black hoodie and dark jeans. She had swapped into a pair of sneakers. The result was a clean and simple hiking outfit.
This time, it wasn’t just about climbing the mountain. It was a nighttime search operation.
Felicia took a flashlight and handed out the temporary map to the others while giving instructions, “You two will take these two routes into the mountain. If you find anything, make sure to signal!
“If the enemy
has more people and you can’t fight back , run as fast as you can. Don’t try to be a hero. I don’t want to save Monkey and then have to come back for you. Do you hear me?”
Felicia’s tone was serious , her gaze sweeping across each person’s face . Only when they all nodded did she look away. “Let’s go!”
