Finn’s mom waved her hands quickly. “No, no, that’s not necessary. I saw your studio just released a new collection. Save me a set when it’s available. I can never manage to grab one. Oh my God, I have to post on my Moments–I’m actually friends with Ms. Sunny now!”
Her giddy excitement left Natalic oddly moved.
At first, she had designed jewelry just to help Jensen. Later, she continued because she loved it. She never paid attention to sales or market data. To her, the money was just numbers.
But Finn’s mom’s unfiltered enthusiasm made her realize she had real fans–fans who cherished her designs. That kind of recognition brought a quiet warmth to her heart.
“Alright, I’ll set aside two sets for you.”
“Really? That’s wonderful!”
Finn’s mom was so happy she forgot the pain in her face.
As the two walked toward the classrooms, Finn’s mom asked, “I heard you sued Luke Corp’s Jensen to return your design fees. Did he pay up? If not, I can get my husband involved. Trust me, once he steps in, it’s handled. My husband works for the tax bureau.”
Natalie blinked in surprise.
A government connection? That explained why the principal had been so wary.
Meeting Finn’s mom’s warmth head–on, Natalie could only answer, “He already returned it. My lawyer settled it.”
“That’s good. But I heard he was your ex? And he cheated while you were still dating? Too much! Your husband is so much better. I can see he only has eyes for you.”
The words filled Natalie’s chest with sweetness. She knew better than anyone how much Baron cared.
“Yes. My husband is very good to me.”
“See? I knew it. I’ve got radar vision for these things. Susie’s mom, we may have met on bad terms, but we’re friends now. Let’s go shopping or have tea sometime.”
The open warmth made Natalie a little unaccustomed.

“Who leaves things lying around like this?” she muttered irritably–then let out a piercing
scream.
“My God! Help!”
She clutched Natalie’s arm so tightly her shrieks nearly split Natalie’s ears.
If not for her self–control, Natalie might have shaken her off. She had never heard such a loud voice–except maybe from Sharon.
“What is it?” Natalie asked, turning back.
Finn’s mom’s face was chalk–white. “A d–dead body…”
She burst into tears.
Natalie’s stomach dropped.
“Stay still,” she ordered, stepping past her. The rightful source is.net
And there it was–Finn’s mom had stumbled over a hand sticking out of the shrubbery, streaked with blood.
Natalie pushed aside the thick holly leaves.
Finn’s mom froze, too terrified to move. She screwed her eyes shut, refusing to look.
Natalie uncovered the body–The teacher.
Unconscious, bleeding from the back of her head.
Natalie immediately pulled out her phone and called the police.
Finn’s mom peeked open her eyes at the sound of the name, then recoiled at the sight.
“Susie’s mom… this wasn’t your husband, was it?”
Natalie’s frown deepened. “Why would you say that?”
“Well, that teacher tried to seduce him earlier, didn’t she? He slapped her in front of everyone. Then she disappeared. He left with the kids. What if they crossed paths again? If she kept pestering him… and, well, your husband doesn’t exactly have the mildest temper.”

Her words hit Natalie like a bucket of ice water.
If even Finn’s mom thought that way, what about the police?
Baron’s earlier slap could easily become dangerous leverage against him.
Was this someone’s plan all along–to hurt the teacher and frame Baron?
Natalie’s heart tightened with uncase.
Realizing what she’d implied, Finn’s mom flushed with guilt.

“My husband always says I speak before I think. I was just rambling. Of course your husband wouldn’t go that far.”
