Chapter 411 Don’t Bleed On Me
“Mr. Jensen. I’ve already taken over everything here. Please head back–it’s not safe.”
Jensen’s fury eased a little at the mention of Rio’s name.

“I’m here to find someone. I promise I won’t interfere with your work, Mr. Rio. Once I find her, I’ll leave immediately.”
Rio studied Jensen’s crazed expression; he’d heard bits about the man’s connection with Natalie. Still, his tone stayed calm. “If you’re here for Ms. Stone, you can go. She’s already been rescued and is likely on her way back.”
“What did you say? Who rescued Natalie?”
Jensen’s voice tightened with alarm.
Rio frowned but answered quickly. “Of course, it was Mr. Baron. He’s Ms. Stone’s husband. He left with her not long ago. So, Mr. Jensen–are you still planning to stay?”
Jensen’s face darkened instantly.
“Mr. Baron? Baron?”
“Yes.”
Jensen nearly ground his teeth to dust. That bastard! Why is that man everywhere? He is just a useless son–in–law–how could he possibly have gotten to Natalie first?
“How could he pull that off? Don’t tell me he’s working with the people here?”
Jensen refused to believe Baron had any real ability.
Rio’s expression soured slightly at the insinuation.
“How could Mr. Baron be colluding with them?” he said quietly. “He simply called the police and asked the Mateo family to step in.”
So that was it.
A sneer curled in Jensen’s mind. Just as I thought – pathetic.
A man from a powerful family, and his first instinct was to call the cops? Only small–timers would do that.

Still, the fact that Baron had rescued Natalie before him gnawed at Jensen’s pride.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, chaos erupted.
A man in black appeared out of nowhere, gun raised at Jensen and Rio.
“Mr. Jensen, watch out!”

In that split second, Hansel shoved Jensen aside. Jensen stumbled into Rio, and the bullet grazed the top of Rio’s head.
Rio froze in shock.
It was the first time he’d ever felt death breathe down his neck.
Jensen was shaken too.
Although Rio’s men subdued the attacker almost immediately, Jensen couldn’t stop himself from trembling.
For the first time, it hit him–he could have died right there.
These weren’t businessmen; they were ruthless killers.
A wave of fear turned his legs to jelly. His voice trembled as he said, “Hansel, let’s go. Mr. Rio said Natalie’s already gone back, right? We’ll return to Ocean City and check on her.”
He tried to stand but couldn’t manage it.
Hansel, though shaken himself, hurried to help him up.
They boarded the helicopter and left as fast as they could.
Under Baron’s men’s protection, Beth soon found her son–but he was unconscious, his condition critical.
Beth’s sobs were gut–wrenching, but one of Baron’s men urged her to move. Clutching her son, she went to meet up with Baron and the others.
Rio stayed behind to clean up the scene. The rescued women were crying–some out of fear, others out of relief. The place was a mess.
Natalie knew none of this.
She found the instant noodles Baron had mentioned and began to boil water, though her

Her nerves were all over the place, but she couldn’t shake the thought that he might be hungry.
So she waited for the water to boil, made the noodles, and carried them over.
The doctor had already removed the bullet from Baron’s body and was stitching up the wound.
Baron gritted his teeth through the pain, and the sight pierced straight through Natalie’s heart.
“It must hurt so much, doesn’t it? Why didn’t you use anesthesia?”
She set the noodles aside and fought down the fear rising in her chest.
She couldn’t let herself be afraid.
Baron was hurt saving her–she had no right to faint at the sight of blood.
When Baron heard her voice, he lifted his head and saw her eyes reddened from holding back.
He immediately noticed how uneasy she was with the blood.
With his uninjured arm, Baron reached up to shield her eyes. “You’re scared, yet you still came over? Are you trying to torture yourself?” he said softly.
“You’re one to talk,” Natalie shot back.
She didn’t push his hand away; the warmth of his palm steadied her racing heart, calming the storm inside her.
