Beth’s expression darkened as she spoke.

“Some people can withstand the effects of the aphrodisiac; after all, the dose isn’t very strong. Most can’t, though, and end up giving in to their urges. Once the yin and yang energies balance through intercourse, the toxins in the body are expelled. But if there’s no balance, the drug transforms into a new kind of poison that begins to eat away at Ms. Stone’s body.”
Beth pointed to Natalie’s face. “Once this poison starts spreading, the skin flushes beautifully. Her breathing will stay calm, almost as if she’s asleep. But if no one notices and lets her keep sleeping, she’ll never wake up. Ms. Stone would die in her sleep.”
Baron’s expression darkened immediately. He seized Natalie’s wrist and checked her pulse.
Westin grew anxious. “Mr. Baron, is Madam going to be all right?”
“No. She’s in danger. She took the antidote I gave her, but it’s reacting badly with the poison. If Beth hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have guessed someone would use this type of toxin. It’s called Velvet Sleep. Once ingested, the person dies in their sleep within twenty–four hours- painlessly, without any sign of illness. Many countries abroad consider it the perfect drug for euthanasia. It’s strictly regulated; it can’t be sold without authorization.”
Baron’s face was grim.
He stood abruptly. “Take everyone to the front cabin,” he ordered Westin. “I’m going to detoxify my wife. Bring the doctor here.”
“Yes, sir.”
Westin carried out Baron’s orders immediately.
Beth looked worriedly at Baron. “Mr. Baron, if you know about Velvet Sleep, then you should also know it has no antidote. The most important thing now is to wake Ms. Stone.”
“I can cure it,” Baron said firmly. “Don’t worry; I won’t let anything happen to my wife. And thank you, Beth. As a token of gratitude, I’ll take care of your son’s surgery.”
Beth froze for a moment. “What do you mean, Mr. Baron?”
Before she could press further, Westin stepped in quickly. “Ms. Beth, our Mr. Baron knows the Witch Doctor. Don’t worry. Your son’s just unconscious; once the Witch Doctor steps in, he’ll
be fine.”

Beth knew who the Witch Doctor was, but she could hardly believe what she was hearing. “The Witch Doctor–you mean the one I’m thinking of?”
“Yes. So please, Ms. Beth, come with me to the front.”
Westin knew how much Baron loved Natalie; every minute they delayed, she was in greater danger. Given Mr. Baron’s temper, if Beth kept pushing, he might actually lose it.
Beth could feel the murderous intent radiating from him.
She nodded quickly. “Thank you, Mr. Baron–truly. I’ll take my son and wait in the front cabin.”
With that, she carried her unconscious child and followed Westin out.
Baron tugged at his collar, frustration simmering beneath the surface.
Who were these people, really?
How had they managed to get their hands on a poison like Velvet Sleep?
If he hadn’t known Natalie carried his custom–made detox powder, he wouldn’t have dared to act rashly.
As he looked at Natalie’s flushed cheeks, his throat tightened involuntarily.
She looked heartbreakingly beautiful.
He forced his focus back to the chemistry, mentally running through the dissolution theory of the drug.
The doctor arrived quickly after hearing Baron’s call. “Mr. Baron, did your wound reopen?”
The doctor assured Baron was the one injured.
Baron shook his head. “Bring me every drug you’ve got and assist me. Don’t ask questions.” “Yes, sir.”
The doctor obeyed immediately; he knew Baron’s true identity–the Witch Doctor.
He gathered all the medical supplies without hesitation.
They couldn’t perform surgery or experiments properly on a plane, but Baron had no other
choice.

He began working rapidly, mixing and testing according to theory and proportion.
Time ticked by, and sweat beaded across his forehead.
Natalie’s complexion grew redder, her beauty almost intoxicating.

The doctor didn’t dare glance her way; he was terrified that even a stray look might earn him a death sentence from Baron.
Baron’s trials began showing signs of success, but to be certain, he ran a few more tests.
Meanwhile, the plane was preparing to land at Ocean City Airport.
Westin, unsure of the situation in the back, called for an update. “Mr. Baron, we’ve reached Ocean City and are entering the airport. Should we notify the Stone family to pick us up?”
“Not yet. Head to our own base first,” Baron replied, still focused on his work.
Westin received the order, immediately arranged for landing, and contacted Yvonne to come and receive them.
