Hearing Natalie’s words filled Baron’s heart with warmth. She was right–depending on others would never compare to relying on yourself. She hadn’t denied her love for her parents or Flynn, nor her identity as a member of the Stone family, but she had said that from now on, the person she could rely on was him.
That one sentence alone was enough for Baron to give her his life. No matter how powerful or prestigious the Stone family was, to Natalie it would always be her birth family.
But he he was the one she would lean on for life.
He and their children with Natalie were her true home.
Baron’s heart swelled until it felt too full to contain.
“My dear,” he said, voice thick with emotion. “I understand. I’ll take care of it soon. And… thank you. Thank you for giving me a home–a real home, ours.”
His eyes turned red, and seeing that made Natalie’s chest ache.
This soft, vulnerable version of Baron–the man who would do anything for her–she prayed he would never change. As long as he stayed this way, she would never leave him.
While the two of them whispered to each other, Waylon had already reached the eastern villa -and the sight before him sent a wave of fury through his chest.
“Unbelievable! That scumbag Logan!”
Waylon stood there trembling with rage. The villa area that had once belonged to his parents. had been completely transformed beyond recognition.
His parents had loved traditional architecture, so the eastern villas had been built to their taste; but now, every pavilion and courtyard had been bulldozed, leaving not a trace behind. In their place stood a row of modern–style mansions, sleek and cold.
That alone told Waylon everything–Logan, that wretched scumbag, had taken over his parents‘ villa.
Baron and Natalie heard his furious outburst and hurried over.
“Dad, what’s wrong?”
Natalie thought someone had attacked him. She glanced around anxiously, then, seeing no

danger, turned back to her father.
Baron’s eyes, meanwhile, went straight to the villas.
He took in the stark modern lines and instantly understood.
“Dad, what’s done is done. Getting angry won’t change it now. I’m sure Grandpa and Grandma would be furious too, but let’s deal with this unfilial fool first. Make him spit out everything he’s taken over the years–and rebuild what was lost in their honor.”
Waylon hadn’t expected Baron to understand the true source of his anger, and he let out a long sigh.
“This is my fault. If I’d come back from time to time, it never would’ve turned into this. But you’re right–getting worked up won’t fix anything. Let’s go see which little scumbag dared to do this to our home!”
Still fuming, Waylon strode forward.
Natalie was confused and tugged lightly on Baron’s sleeve. “Why is my dad so upset?”
Baron couldn’t help but smile at her curious tone. “Your dad said the east is the most important direction. These villas were probably your grandparents‘ old residence. People their age usually prefer traditional architecture–you can tell just by looking at the main gate outside. That gate represents the Stone family’s heritage. But now, look at these eastern villas; there’s not a single trace of the old charm left.”
Natalie followed his gaze and frowned.
“So you’re saying Logan had this place rebuilt? That means he’s living in the eastern villas now?”
“Most likely.”
“How dare he!”
Natalie’s anger flared too.
“Even setting aside that my grandparents have passed, the eastern villas weren’t just open for anyone to enter. And even if my aunt’s villas don’t matter, my dad is still alive! Logan’s just a collateral branch of the Stone family, and yet he dared to brazenly alter its layout?”
Baron’s lips curved into a cold smile.

“You’re right. With my dad here, Logan won’t be able to do much. Let’s go.”
She took Baron’s hand and followed Waylon’s lead.
Baron glanced down at their joined hands, a smile tugging at his lips that he couldn’t hide.
His wife had gotten used to holding his hand–that was one habit he’d happily keep forever.
