Murder flashed in Waylon’s eyes.
It had been a long, long time since he’d felt the urge to kill someone–but Logan had pushed him past the edge.
Natalie wanted to argue, but she knew Waylon was right.
She couldn’t help in any way; she’d only be a burden to Baron.
She drew in a shaky breath and sat back down.
In the arena, the tiger lunged at Yvonne like a beast gone mad.
Yvonne had no choice but to run for her life. On the second floor, Jacob and the others erupted in cheers.
“Come on, beauty! I’m rooting for you!”
“Tiger! Kill her! Hurry!”
They shouted and whistled, their faces glowing with excitement.
To them, Yvonne’s life or death didn’t matter; it was all about the thrill.
Natalie took in every single one of their faces, memorizing them. Good. Very good.
Her hands clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, drawing blood without her even realizing it.
At that moment, Natalie hated her own helplessness more than anything.
She couldn’t even protect her family. How long will this feeling last? Maybe it’s time I did something.

Wonne managed to dodge a few attacks with her agility, but the tiger’s claws still tore open her arm and thigh.
Bright red blood splattered across the floor, which only seemed to excite the tiger further. Yvonne’s strength was fading fast.
She hadn’t eaten or drunk anything since being captured; now, faced with a massive predator, her vision began to blur. Am I really going to die here today?
She still had so much left unsaid to Natalie. There were things she hadn’t explained to them. Her parents weren’t bad people.
There had been more to that story.
But it seemed she’d never get the chance to tell it.
Tears streaked down Yvonne’s dirty cheeks as she thought. Mom, dad … you worked so hard to keep me alive; and in the end, I still failed you.
She watched the tiger charge at her, its foul breath filling her nose. Her legs gave out completely.
Just as she closed her eyes to accept her fate, a gunshot rang out–then the tiger’s head exploded.
At the same moment, a sharp scalpel sliced past Yvonne’s cheek, embedding itself directly in the tiger’s eye.
The beast’s dying roar stirred up a violent gust of dust that made everyone shield their eyes.
Baron seized the opening, cutting through the rope around Yvonne’s neck and pulling her into
his arms.
Feeling his presence, Yvonne broke down in tears.
“Baron!”
“Don’t worry,” he growled. “I’ll make this right for you today.”
Rage burned through him. Yvonne had grown up with them; she was practically his little sister. Now she was part of the Stone family–Natalie’s cousin–and yet, the Stone family’s own branch had dared to do this to her. Baron wanted nothing more than to slaughter them all.
With a few quick leaps, he carried Yvonne out of the danger zone.

The tiger collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud, its body twitching weakly, it was barely breathing.
The sudden turn of events left everyone frozen.
Jacob and the others were the first to react.
“Who the heck are you? Who let you in here? Mr. Logan!”
Logan had just finished beating Alden when he noticed the chaos in the arena.
He frowned.
“Who’s that man? Where did he come from?”
Hearing that, the dying Alden turned his head.
When he saw Yvonne safe in Baron’s arms, he exhaled in relief–then coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Maybe it was deliberate, maybe not–but that blood splattered all over Logan’s pants.
“Are you looking to die?” Logan snapped, kicking him away in disgust.
He pulled out a tissue to wipe his pants, but suddenly froze.
“Wait… no. That man’s not one of ours.
He grabbed his phone to call his men, but no one answered.
Then he tried the walkie–talkie–still nothing. That’s when panic set in.
“Someone else is in here?”
Hearing that, Alden burst into laughter
