The doctor hesitated, his expression uneasy.
Natalie glanced at the gashes across Yvonne’s body–deep, angry wounds; there was no way they wouldn’t scar.
Seeing the doctor’s look confirmed it for her.
“I understand. Just focus on treating her first.”
“Yes, madam.”
The doctor quickly took out an iodine solution and began cleaning Yvonne’s wounds.
Yvonne trembled all over from the pain; cold sweat soaked her clothes, yet not a single sound escaped her lips.
That quiet strength made Waylon’s heart ache–and filled him with admiration.
“When this is over, we’ll get you something good to eat; you need to rebuild your strength. When Natalie’s recognition banquet is held, you’ll be there too.”
Yvonne’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Waylon.

Waylon already had a hunch; not wanting to frighten Natalie or Yvonne, he quickly said, “Let’s
talk outside.”
“Dad, I’m not afraid.”
Natalie spoke up before he could move.
Ever since she’d been kidnapped–ever since the ordeal on the ship–Natalie had changed. The shock had been deep, but she’d come to understand what kind of life awaited her from
now on.

Waylon hadn’t expected Natalie to stop him. Thinking of what she might see next, he spoke gently, “Sweetheart, Yvonne still needs someone here. Why don’t you stay and take care of her?”
Natalie met his eyes. “Dad, I know what you’re worried about. But I’m part of the Stone family; there’ll only be more situations like this in the future, not fewer. I’m not Mom; I can handle it.”
Yvonne didn’t know what was happening outside, but since Natalie insisted on going, she didn’t try to stop her.
“Uncle, let her go; I’ll be fine here. The doctor and the guards are still around–no one would dare touch me.”
With Yvonne saying that, Waylon couldn’t object any further.
“Alright, come along then. But if you start feeling unwell, tell me right away.”
“Okay.”
Natalie nodded, then turned to Yvonne. “I’ll step out for a bit. Listen to the doctor. If anyone tries anything, these are all Stone family people–just tell them what to do.”
“I know, Natalie. Don’t worry about me.”
If she weren’t afraid that her parents‘ belongings might be taken away while she was gone, Yvonne never would’ve stayed behind to make Natalie worry.

Seeing that Yvonne could handle things, Natalie finally rose and followed Waylon out of the living room.
Jacob and his crew tried to slip away, but the Stone family guards blocked their path.
“Mr. Waylon, no matter what happened, this is your family’s business–it has nothing to do with us. Can’t you just let us go?”
Ever since learning Waylon’s name, Jacob hadn’t dared put up a fight–true or not, he wasn’t about to take that chance.
Everyone knew who the Stone family were.
And they weren’t just any business family.
Waylon ignored him completely, walking straight past with Natalie.
Baron saw Natalie coming and frowned instinctively.
“What are you doing here?”
“I came to see.”
Natalie knew they must’ve found something.
After what had been done to Yvonne–and the fact that Logan had kept a tiger on the property -she already had a grim suspicion of what lay ahead.
Baron had meant to stop her, but when he saw the determination in her eyes, he sighed. “If it’s too much for you, step aside. We’ve already called the police.”
“Alright.”
Natalie nodded and followed Baron and Waylon toward the site.
Even though she’d braced herself, she still froze when she saw what was there.
Piles of bones were heaped together, hastily buried beneath the arena floor.
Some bodies hadn’t even fully decomposed; maggots crawled over rotting flesh.
The corpses that remained were covered in wounds–some were missing limbs, clearly torn apart by something before being dumped like trash.
Natalie’s throat tightened; bile rose from her stomach, threatening to spill out.
