Chapter 694

Now that Fiona had returned, Nigel felt overwhelmed.
Anne gently asked, “Nigel, what’s wrong? Are you feeling ill again? Why don’t you sit down and let me massage your head?”
Nigel often suffered from headaches, so Anne had even learned how to massage from a professional.
However, Nigel refused. “I need to meet Fiona for lunch. I’ll head to my study first.”
With that, he headed upstairs.
As Anne watched him leave, her heart was filled with jealousy and frustration. When the Jakeman and Hampton families had united through marriage, Fiona had captured Nigel’s attention with her bright and bold personality.
Despite his calm exterior, Fiona had drawn him in.
For the years Fiona disappeared, Nigel had tirelessly searched for her and their daughter. He never stopped looking.
Meanwhile, Anne had stayed by his side all this time, yet she had received
nothing in return. She was unwilling to accept this. With Fiona’s return, their rivalry was about to start again.
Years ago, Anne had defeated Fiona once, and now, she was determined to win again.
Celine took Bella to Alvarez Residence, where they both had hot baths and changed into clean clothes.
Celine took Grace’s pulse. “Mrs. Alvarez, your leg is healing well. If you continue with your exercises, you’ll be able to walk normally again.”
Grace was happy. “Celine, thank you.”
Celine smiled. “Thank you for protecting Bella. I’m very grateful to you, Mrs. Alvarez.”
Adam watched as the relationship between Celine and his mother seemed to ease. He smiled faintly. Just then, Leo entered the room and whispered something in Adam’s ear.
Adam turned to Celine. “Celine, Carly’s mother, Fiona, is back.”
Grace’s eyes widened. “Fiona is back?”
Celine asked, “Mrs. Alvarez, are you close with Mrs. Hampton?”
Grace nodded. “Of course. Fiona and I are best friends. We were both pregnant at the same time, and we joked about having our children marry each other. That’s how the engagement between Adam and
P.n
Carly came about.”
Celine’s interest piqued. “Why did she leave? Why did she let Hayden take Carly to Mercity to raise her?”
Grace’s expression darkened. “All of
this was because of Anne. After
Fiona married Nigel, their marriage was stable, but Anne, his first love, was always around. When Fiona was pregnant, she suddenly became poisoned.”
“Poisoned?” Celine asked.
“Yes, Fiona was poisoned. She used all her strength to give birth and, to keep her daughter safe, she entrusted her to her student,
Hayden, asking him to take her far away The poison and the stress of
childbirth put Fiona into a coma

“I was also giving birth at the time, and it wasn’t until after I had Adam that I learned Fiona had disappeared. She was gone for over 20 years, but I always knew she wouldn’t die. She’s finally back!”
Celine now understood the situation. Fiona had been pregnant and targeted by someone who wanted to harm both her and her baby. She had narrowly survived, sent her daughter away, and then disappeared herself.
Celine asked, “Mr. Alvarez, where is Fiona meeting Carly?” Adam replied, “Mr. Hampton has arranged it at the Atlas Hotel.” Celine smirked. “I think I’ll meet Mrs. Hampton at the Atlas Hotel!”
