Hailey gave a cold smile as she said, “Justin, sometimes what you see isn’t the truth. Do you even know what Joanne did to me the last time you asked me to
meet you?”
Justin interrupted her. “That’s enough, Ms. Hailey. No matter what you say, I’m not going to believe it!”
Hailey was speechless by his reaction. She knew Justin’s feelings for her ran too deep. No matter what she said, he wouldn’t believe a word of it.
“Ms. Hailey, I just want to talk,” he said.
“Then I’m sorry. I don’t have time, and I’m not meeting you!”
With that, Hailey immediately hung up the phone.
She had hung up the phone on purpose. As long as she didn’t take the bait, Ewan and Joanne would only grow more anxious.

“Justin, since Hailey won’t come to us, there’s only one way. You take me into the villa so I can talk to her in person. While we’re at it, you’ll need to call Jonah and find a way to keep him occupied. That’s the only way we’ll get a chance to speak with her alone.”
Justin frowned. “Joanne, why are you in such a rush to see Ms. Hailey?”
Joanne froze for a moment. It was the first time Justin had ever questioned her.
A wave of anxiety swept through Joanne. She could tell that Justin was starting to suspect her.
She needed Justin as the bait right now, so she couldn’t lose his trust.
“Justin, why are you asking me that? Of course, it’s because I want to try breaking them up. What else could it be? Don’t tell me Hailey told you something that made you start doubting me.”
Justin said, “She did say a few things. Last time, when you had me invite her to dinner, what exactly did you do to her?”
Joanne’s heart skipped a beat. “Justin, I don’t want to lie to you. I drugged her, and I had her taken to the operating room because I wanted to force her to abort the child!”
Justin’s face went pale. He stood up immediately and asked, “Joanne, how could you do something like that?”

“Do you really want to stand by and watch Jonah get ruined by Hailey? We’re his closest friends—if we don’t help him, then who will?”
Justin hesitated. He was Jonah’s closest friend, and no one in this world wanted to see Jonah happy more than he did.
Upon seeing that he was starting to waver, Joanne wore a barely noticeable smirk. She knew he was being swayed.

Joanne said, “Justin, we’re running out of time. We have to get into the villa and find Hailey! We can’t let her go through with the wedding to Jonah. Right now, only you can save him. Please, help him!”
Justin hesitated for a second, then his gaze hardened with resolve.
He nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll do as you say! I’ll call someone to get Jonah out
of there first, then take you into the villa to find Hailey!”
Joanne smiled happily. The plan was unfolding smoothly, just as she had hoped.
