Charles was fuming, his voice cold as ice as he said, “You’ve really been spoiled rotten by your mom! You teamed up with Michael to drug Evelyn and ruin her reputation. Not only did you not see the error of your ways, but you also had the nerve to run your mouth here.
Apologize!”
“I don’t need her apology. If there’s something to say, take it to the police.”
Evelyn wasn’t particularly keen on Charles’ attempt to stand up for her. She was done playing nice and pulled out her phone to call the police.
Charles watched her with a steely gaze, making no move to stop her.
Sena noticed started to panic. She was terrified of being hauled off to the police station. With Charles’ unwavering principles, he wouldn’t let his mother step in. She couldn’t handle it if he insisted she face the consequences. She didn’t want to end up behind bars. But asking Evelyn for forgiveness? That was a bridge too far for Sena. She stood there, feeling utterly helpless.
Almost by instinct, she turned towards Dahlia, who was walking over.
Dahlia watched Charles’ genuine anger and silently cursed Sena for her foolishness. However, she kept her face composed.
She stepped up, gently taking Evelyn’s hand to stop her from dialing 911, and softly pleaded, “Evelyn, please don’t call the police.”
Sena’s eyes welled up with gratitude as she looked at Dahlia. She knew that no matter what, Dahlia would always be there for her first.
At that moment, Sena viewed Dahlia as more than just a sister. She was family in the truest sense.
Seeing Dahlia’s earnest defense of Sena, Evelyn couldn’t help but smirk internally. What a performance. She was curious to see how long Dahlia could keep up the act.
Charles was visibly annoyed by Dahlia’s interference. He spoke in a low, firm voice, “Dahlia.”
“Charles, I’m not standing up for Sena without reason. I know drugging Evelyn was impulsive and wrong, but Sena has already been severely punished.” Dahlia looked at Sena with eyes full of sympathy, biting her lip, “Sena was… hurt by Michael…”
She didn’t finish, but the implication was clear. Sena had been assaulted that night. Charles’ expression softened, and the chill in his gaze towards Sena eased.
Dahlia noticed this and pressed on with Evelyn. “Evelyn, I’m asking you to let this go because you weren’t harmed physically. But Michael

“I’m begging you. Let’s not dwell on this anymore, okay?”
Sena watched Dahlia lower herself to plead on her behalf, and she was so moved that she was almost in tears.
“Dahlia…” At that moment, Sena felt she could give her everything to Dahlia.
Evelyn watched the sisterly bond unfold, waiting for this moment. The

Evelyn took in the scene, then shifted her gaze to Sena, suddenly bursting out in laughter.
That laugh made Sena’s stare sharp, filled with loathing and anger towards Evelyn. “Evelyn, what are you laughing at?”
Evelyn smirked, “I’m laughing at how ridiculous you are! Sena, I’ve seen plenty of clueless people, but someone as clueless as you? That’s a first!”
