Chapter 13

Evelyn had loved Charles for a decade. She was too familiar with his scent.
The moment he kissed her, she recognized him immediately. Her initial panic and fear faded away, leaving only an endless chill. Evelyn turned her face away with a frosty expression, resisting Charles’ imposing kiss.
Her resistance only intensified the darkness in Charles’ eyes. He forcefully turned her face back towards him and leaned down for another kiss.
Charles had a threatening aura about him, and it was mixed with inexplicable anger.
Was he doing this because she had caused Dahlia to feel slighted in the coffee shop? Was he here to avenge his beloved?
Evelyn’s resistance grew stronger. The grip on her was tight, and Evelyn couldn’t escape. She could only clench her teeth, keep his burning breath out, and refuse to let him invade her mouth. At the same time, her body struggled more fiercely. She raised her hands to push and hit him.
However, the inherent strength disparity between them meant she couldn’t shake Charles in the slightest, even with all her might. Her hands had just been raised when Charles pinned them above her head with one hand.
This position brought their bodies even closer. So close that she could distinctly feel Charles’ burning desire.
Evelyn’s body tensed up instantly. She instinctively arched her back to avoid him, but she’s lying on the leather chair, and there was nowhere to retreat.
Her eyes reddened with anger, and through clenched teeth, she managed to say, “Charles, let go of me… You have no right to touch me!”
A cold smirk appeared in Charles’ eyes.
No right?
She was his woman. He had every right to touch her.
The hand Charles had on Evelyn’s jaw suddenly tightened.
Evelyn winced in pain, her lips parted slightly, and Charles took the opportunity to deepen the kiss. He kissed her fiercely as if venting his anger.
Evelyn tried to bite him again, but the moment she moved, Charles skillfully avoided it. He deepened the kiss even more, and it became more intense.
Evelyn was forced to endure it. Then Charles finally released her swollen lips, moving downwards.
Evelyn’s breathing was unstable. As Charles kissed the side of her ear, she suddenly spoke, “Charles, your beloved Dahlia already knows we’ve broken up. Aren’t you afraid of hurting her by kissing me?” Charles paused his kisses but did not let go. Instead, he bit her earlobe gently. His voice was cold as ice. “Evelyn, did you ever think of Dahlia’s feelings when you drugged me and slept with me five years ago?” Hearing him bring up that night five years ago made Evelyn’s breath hitch. She instinctively tried to argue. “I didn’t drug you!”
Charles sneered, “Do you think I’d believe that?”
He didn’t believe her. He hadn’t believed her five years ago. He didn’t believe her claims of innocence or of not knowing how she had ended up in his room.
Because that night, he was drugged and not in his right mind, but she was sober.
She loved him too much. He was under the influence of the drug and couldn’t wait to kiss her and press her into the bed.
She thought about pushing him away and running, but, as she looked at his pained, handsome face, she ultimately couldn’t bear to push him away and became his antidote.
Her willing heart left her without a defense.
“What do you really want?” Evelyn threw out the words with icy detachment.
At this point, she didn’t want to argue about what happened five years ago anymore.
