Once, she truly loved Charles too much, cared about his misunderstandings, and always wanted to prove herself.
Now, it didn’t matter anymore.
Charles’ gaze was dark and mysterious. His voice was husky as he said, “You!”
As his words fell, he leaned down again under Evelyn’s incredulous gaze, kissing her lips wantonly. He didn’t give her a chance to resist, and inched closer, entangling wildly.

With her sharp words, Evelyn tried to mask her inner turmoil. She thought this would enrage Charles, and he would let her go. A man always so superior definitely could not stand her saying this.
