With tears streaming down her cheeks, Evelyn froze at the mention of Dahlia’s name. She quickly turned her head, trying to see through her tear-blurred eyes.
Upon hearing everything, Charles asked in a deep, steady voice, “Where’s Dahlia now?”
“She’s still at your grandma’s villa. I’ve got the bodyguards keeping an eye on her,” came the reply.
Just then, Patrick and the rest of the Jenkins family arrived. Charles handed over the situation to Patrick and set off to find Dahlia himself. As soon as he left, Evelyn followed right after. The Jenkins family never really liked Evelyn, so nobody stopped her as she walked out of the hospital and immediately dialed the police. Rosa had been fine; how could she just suddenly die? Dahlia, that malicious woman, had orchestrated John’s death before. It was entirely possible she did the same to Rosa to keep her quiet. Evelyn was convinced Dahlia had something to do with Rosa’s death. She didn’t trust Charles. After what happened with Charlie, Evelyn feared Charles might protect Dahlia.

Charles sped all the way to Rosa’s villa, arriving just as the police cars did. He saw the officers step out, and his expression darkened. His gaze briefly met Evelyn’s as she followed the police.
The officers, unaware that it wasn’t Charles who called them, approached him first. “Mr. Jenkins, we’ll do our utmost to determine the cause of Rosa’s death.”
“Alright,” Charles replied softly, then led the way inside. Evelyn, noticing that Charles wasn’t stopping her, felt a bit of relief. She had worried he might shield Dahlia and block the investigation.
They all went in together. The bodyguards inside immediately approached Charles, avoiding his eyes. Although Rosa’s death wasn’t directly their fault, they had followed her orders to bring Dahlia here, which led to this tragedy. They feared Charles’ anger.
“What happened? Why did Rosa die?” Evelyn stepped forward, her voice anxious.
“Once Ms. Rosa brought Ms. Dahlia to the villa, she had us take her into a room and tie her to a chair,” one of the bodyguards explained. “Then she asked us to leave. We don’t know what happened inside.”
“It wasn’t until Ms. Dahlia shouted that Ms. Rosa had fainted that we rushed in,” he continued. “By the time we got inside, Ms. Rosa was already on the ground, gone…”
They knew Rosa believed Dahlia had something to do with Charlie’s death and brought her here to deal with her. They couldn’t understand Rosa chose to handle it herself.

“Which room is Dahlia in?” Charles asked. Only Dahlia knew what really happened to Rosa.
The bodyguards quickly led them around a corner to a room down the hallway, guarded by two more bodyguards. After Rosa was taken to the hospital, Tony instructed them to keep everything as it was and watch over Dahlia, who was awaiting further instructions.
As Charles approached, they promptly opened the door. Inside, Dahlia was still tied to a chair, her eyes red and her face streaked with tears. Seeing Charles, she didn’t plead for release. Her first concern was, “Charles, is Grandma okay?” Her voice was urgent, filled with hope.
Charles’ eyes were still red; Rosa was the one person in the Jenkins family he
truly cared about. Her death was a heavy blow. He looked at Dahlia as if trying to see through her. His voice was low and rough, “Grandma is dead.”
He was suspecting her.
