Sold To The Alphas I Hate Chapter 410

Chapter 410 Jason’s Messages For Eira- I

Eira’s POV

After Jason left, my heart couldn’t be at peace. Though it was Jason who had left, Kael and Lucian went to the security team to keep track of updates, and if there was a need, they could take quick actions.

Kael had told me that they would be away with the security team the entire night, or probably until they made sure Jason returned. Though they would be within the estate, I might barely see them.

Roman and Rafe were with me, to take care of me and the babies. Especially Kaya, she needed Rafe most of the time. The little munchkin only stuck to me when she needed to fill her stomach, and later she didn’t even know me.

Unable to sleep anymore, I snuggled in Roman’s arms. Kaya was in her crib, and Rafe was with Raven in his room.

I felt how comforting it was to have multiple mates who took care of different things, and I didn’t have to stress over it, especially the kids when I was already stressed about something else.

“Staying won’t solve the matter,” Roman said to me as he held me close and pecked my forehead. “You should sleep. In the morning, Kael and Lucian will let me know about Jason.”

“I am trying, but the thought of his safety won’t let me,” I mumbled. “I just want him to return right away.”

“He will,” Roman assured me and lulled me to sleep.

The next morning, Kael and Lucian hadn’t returned yet.

Roman was packing breakfast for them, and Rafe had packed their clothes.

“They are just around in the estate, can’t they make it here?” I asked.

“Just like you, we all are worried, and Kael and Lucian didn’t want to slack even for a moment. You can’t tell when Jason might need help,” Rafe said. “On the other side, they have to maintain contact with Alpha Gerald so both sides can plan together.”

“Can I go to the security office and see what’s going on?” I asked. “I truly want to know about Jason.”

“He had reached Asher and now is with him,” Roman told me. “We will make sure to update you, don’t worry.”

I nodded and forced myself to eat breakfast. It was like my throat was choked, and nothing could go down.

“You should eat well,” Roman said as he brought fruits for me. “You need to feed Kaya, you can’t ignore your food.”

I hummed and continued eating.

Rafe had put Kaya to sleep. He and Raven together took care of the pets before they came to join us for breakfast.

“Good morning, baby,” I pecked on Raven’s head.

He pecked my cheek to greet me back before he sat in the chair to eat.

“I am sorry, baby. These days, mommy couldn’t pay attention,” I said, realizing I did nothing for him. He was quiet in the home, doing his own things, not bothering anyone when we were troubled by other matters.

Such a good son I had. But I might not be the best mother for him. When it was finally time for him to get his mother, I was already busy birthing a sibling for him. I felt like I truly didn’t give him any time to make up for all those years.

Raven felt my gaze on him and looked at me. He picked up a piece of apple on his fork and held it for me to eat, his lips curved into a light, silent smile.

I ate it, my eyes moist. “Thank you. Mommy will try to spend more time with you.”

He offered a nod and resumed eating.

Raven got busy with his classes, while I sat by the glass window with Vixen in my lap, my thoughts only surrounded by worry for Jason.

“Caldwell, I have something for you,” Rafe came to me.

I didn’t look at him. My brows knitted in a frown. “Not now, Rafe. I am not in a mood to argue with you and entertain you.”

I heard him let out a deep sigh and say, “There’s something of Jason I want to give you.”

This got my attention, and I looked at him. There was a laptop in his hands.

“What is it?” I asked.

He had already moved to settle a pillow in front of me and placed the laptop on it, while he started explaining, “When I was investigating the night Alice died, I had to check your old phone, which was almost dead. But I managed to recover some old data from it, and the new one that arrived the moment I activated your number.”

Data… there was nothing but my message history and contact details. It didn’t even have a camera to click any pictures. The music I heard was on the radio.

“You read my messages?” I asked. Because, other than Alice and a few other students in class, there was only Jason whom I ever messaged.

“I didn’t mean to, and I wasn’t even interested, but when new data showed up, after the days when you were already in prison, I had to check who contacted you after that, and if I could find any lead to Alice’s case.”

“After I was in prison?” I asked. “Who contacted me? Those old hags?”

“I am sure they were busy running instead of worrying about you,” he said and finally opened one screen to show me.

“This number?” I tried to recall.

“Jason’s old number,” Rafe added. “He doesn’t use it now, but it’s still active.” Rafe looked at me, our gazes met, his serious mind puzzled. “He used that number only to message you for the past six years.”

I swallowed hard, my brain drowning into deep confusion.

Rafe explained, “Six years back, your cellphone was confiscated by the police and was never going to show up. He thought it was gone and you would never see those messages he sent. So, he continued sending you one message every day, even until this day. He doesn’t know I have activated your number now, and he must think I had discarded it after I recovered some old history from the mobile storage.”

My heart skipped a beat. He sent me a message every day for the past six years? That must be over a thousand messages. But why? Was it to let out how much he despised me, how much he regretted having me in his life?

When I was lost, Rafe told me, “His latest message to you is from last night. I think you should read them.”

I looked at him, my eyes teary. “Did you read them all? Will it break my heart to read how much he hated me? Or will I be hurt to see how much I had hurt him?”

“I didn’t read them all, just the starting ones, only to check who sent you messages and to be sure. The rest I didn’t. That’s between you and him,” he said. “But from what I understood, I think you should read them.”

I looked at the screen, my heart heavy with the emotions I was feeling.

Rafe put the headphone in my ear. “I have set it to audio voice, so you don’t have to stare at the screen.”

And then he stood up. “Take your time. Roman and I will take care of the kids,” and walked away.

As I started listening to the messages from the first one that was sent, and onwards with each day ahead, I realized he sent me the first message on the night when he came to the prison with Lucian.

He said nothing to me in person, but sent a message on the dead number after he left.

He expressed his conflicted emotions about how he still couldn’t believe I could do it, even after he saw the proof, that his heart did not let him believe, but his mind showed the truth, that how I killed his family. How hurt he felt, that he had the thought that somehow he would die as well. That’s how his world felt like it had nothing left in it.
