Chapter 376 Alpha Gerald’s Family

Eira’s POV

Soon we arrived in front of the massive royal residence of the HollowCrest Pack Alpha family.

Kael stepped out first. Once he got Raven down, he offered me his hand. I placed my palm in his and carefully stepped out of the car.

My eyes lifted to the grand entrance of the residence.

Huge double sided wooden doors stood open, their carved surfaces towering above us. Royal guards stood on either side, perfectly still and imposing.

For some reason, a nervousness settled inside me. My breath turned shallow.

Perhaps it was the overwhelming grandeur of the place. Or perhaps it was the thought that we were about to meet the royal bloodline of the werewolf world.

The other four stepped out of the vehicles as well and joined us.

Just then, the large doors behind the guards opened wider and three figures emerged from the residence, followed by a few servants.

The first was a tall, commanding man dressed in a refined suit that perfectly matched his powerful presence.

Beside him walked a graceful woman wearing an elegant olive green dress.

Next to her was a young man in a formal suit.

I recognized the older man immediately.

Alpha Gerald Hawthorne.

The woman beside him had to be his mate, Luna Iris. And the young man walking with them was their son, Evan, whose birthday and coming of age ceremony we had come to attend.

As they approached us, something unexpected happened. A strange warmth spread through me.

It was not intimidating the way powerful Alphas usually felt. Instead, it was comforting. Gentle. Almost familiar in a way I could not understand.

“Welcome to HollowCrest Pack, Alpha Kael,” Alpha Gerald said as he greeted the five Alphas.

Then his gaze moved to me.

“Welcome.”

Despite the undeniable authority in his presence, there was a softness in his eyes when he looked at me. It eased the nervous tension inside my chest.

“Thank you, Alpha Gerald,” I replied politely.

“This is my mate and Luna of this pack, Iris,” he said, introducing the woman beside him, “and my son, Evan.”

My attention had already been drawn to the beautiful woman standing before me.

Her platinum brown hair framed her delicate face, and her light brown eyes carried a warmth that instantly touched something deep inside me.

I greeted her respectfully before turning to Evan.

The young heir offered his greetings to all of us with calm politeness.

He carried the similar aura as his father, same dark hair and eyes, similar built meant for an alpha, for being so young he already looked powerful, though that young boyish charm remained on his face.

Kael also introduced our family to them, his four brothers and then our son, Raven.

“Such a sweet young lad,” Luna Iris said as Raven bowed to them to greet them. “I can see he is going to be just as powerful and capable alpha like his father.”

On his behalf, I thanked Luna Iris for her kind words.

They led us inside home, with Alpha Gerald and Luna walking by Kael and my side, with Raven between us as Kael had hold his hand, while Evan joined the rest four at the rear.

I could already hear them talking to each other in friendly way.

We walked through the massive foyer of the residence that led us to the grand drawing room. As we settled there, I didn’t know what to do, while the men were talking to each other.

Luna Iris was sitting close to me, we shared smiles.

“Gerald told me about everything happened at the council,” she said. “Must have been truly difficult to face it all.”

I could see a genuine empathy in her eyes.

I hummed and said, “But, now everything is fine. My son is back to me.” I looked at Raven, with whom Evan was trying to communicate.

Alpha Gerald must have informed them already that Raven didn’t talk, so they were communicating with one sided talk from Evan, and Raven answering through actions.

I realised now, that Evan was truly young and still away from the brutality of the werewolf world, the kind we had seen. It felt good to see at least one child was raised unharmed, unlike me, my son and even my five mates.

Kael had told me already he was their second son, and first child had died in the hands of enemies. That explained why they must have been so protective of their only child.

“I am happy for you as well,” Luna Iris said, “There’s no pain worse than seeing your child is being taken away from you and you could do nothing at all.”

I sympathised with her. No one else could understood her better than me. At least my child was with me, while hers couldn’t be brought back from the dead.

After sometime we were led to the garden of the residence where a meal was arranged inside a beautiful gazebo surrounding with greenery, fountains and soothing breeze.

The meal was served over that lavish dining. Everyone was talking like a family. I realised Kael and Alpha Gerald were at so much ease with each other as if they were meant to be good friends.

I heard them talking about Kael’s father, even Luna Iris commented about Kael’s mother that the kind of perfect Luna she was.

Back then I never got to interact with Kael’s parents. I wondered if they were alive, would they have allowed their son to like an ordinary girl like me, who was nothing but a lowly hybrid in everyone’s eyes, with no good family with no bloodline or even wealth.

I let out a sigh. I had no answer to it.

Roman sitting next to me was paying attention to me, and food I ate.

He gestured me asking what happened, and I shook my head.

“You shouldn’t eat this,” I heard Jason, sitting opposite to me, and moving one dish away from me, “It might make you feel nauseous.”

As he was my so called doctor, I listened to him.

“Did you like the food?” Luna Iris asked me.

I nodded, “It feels like it’s just made for my palate.”

I meant it.

Though the food here was different from what I ate in home, it didn’t feel foreign at all. It felt like a homely food I could eat everyday. It was like a comfort food to my soul.
