Save Her Lose Us Chapter 474

Chapter 474

At that moment, Jason was helping Victor organize his clothes for the next day. Hearing his complaint, he simply offered a small, silent smile.

Victor had a short temper and was an extreme perfectionist. If the household staff did something even slightly out of line with his expectations, he would fly into a rage.

Jason was only a few months older than Victor but was far more mature.

In the short time they had been living together, he had already figured out Victor’s temperament. With a single glance or gesture from Victor, Jason could guess what he wanted.

As a result, their bond had grown incredibly strong. The Lockridges naturally arranged for them to be together constantly-studying together, riding in the same car to and from school, and even having adjacent rooms.

Lately, because of the trouble with Theresa, Victor had often pulled him into his room for late-night talks.

When Jason didn’t respond, Victor paused and sat up.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” he demanded, annoyed.

Jason was popular at school; girls flocked around him. Victor was the opposite. The moment he appeared, girls scattered like mice from a cat, not even daring to look

him in the eye.

Victor figured that since Jason was so well-liked by girls, he must understand them.

He wanted Jason’s validation, and even if he couldn’t get that, he wanted to know what he should do.

Jason neatly folded the clothes and then turned around.

He was wearing casual loungewear, his lean frame tall and slender.

The soft light fell on his light brown, fluffy hair, making him seem even more approachable.

He smiled and said, “I’m a little hungry. Let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.”

Victor was silent for a beat.

Unimpressed but hungry, he stood up from the sofa. “I’ll call the chef.”

As two teenage boys in the middle of a growth spurt, no matter how much they ate for dinner, they would inevitably get hungry late at night and go searching for food.

“It’s too late today, the chefs have all gone home,” Jason said, glancing at the wall clock. “I’ll make something.”

Victor didn’t think much of it. If the chefs were off-duty, he could just call them back. They all lived near the Lockridge estate anyway; it would only take them a few minutes to get there.

But Jason didn’t see it that way, so he often ended up cooking for them himself.

Jason was an excellent cook, and Victor loved his food.

It wasn’t that the professional chefs were bad on the contrary, they were world-renowned, five star chefs hired from abroad. But even the most delicious meals become tiresome after more than a decade.

Besides, Victor always felt that Jason’s cooking had a different flavor from what the

chefs made, different from anything he’d ever eaten in any restaurant.

So, when Jason offered to cook, Victor didn’t object.

Soon, Jason had prepared a few dishes and set them on the table

Just as Victor was about to dig in, Jason asked, “So, what are you

going to do? Are you really breaking Up?

Victor froze, belatedly realizing Jason was talking about him and Theresa.

At the mention of it, the food before him suddenly lost its appeal.

He snorted. “If we break up, we break up.”

Jason smiled. “She’s an amazing person-smart, beautiful. There are plenty of guys

out there who like her. Are you sure you’re willing to let her go?”

Of course, Victor wasn’t.

He had spoken out of anger. Even his agreement to the breakup was a spur-of-the-moment decision. In fact, in the six hours since they broke up… no, to be precise, in the five hours forty-eight minutes, and fifty-eight seconds since, he had been absolutely tormented.

He checked his phone every thirty seconds, waiting for an apology from Theresa.

Victor pursed his lips. “What’s the use of being great? She got angry at me for another man. It means I’m not the only one in her heart.”

“I’m a purist. I can’t stand the thought of her being tainted by other men.”

The words were harsh, and even Victor was taken aback after saying them.

But he couldn’t take them back. He paused, then added, as if trying to console himself, “If she’s willing to apologize, I might give her another chance.”

To cover his own unease, he grabbed his fork and took a bite of a vegetable.

Only after he’d speared it did he realize it was asparagus.

Victor was a picky eater and didn’t eat asparagus. But Jason loved it, so whenever it was served, the entire dish was tacitly understood to be Jason’s.
