Soren was being treated at the Leigh family’s hospital, so he and Liam had unavoidably seen each other many times. Liam was huddled in a hospital supply closet, worrying about what to do, when Gregory happened to hurry past. Seeing him, Gregory stopped.

“Dr. Leigh, what are you doing here?” he asked warmly. “Mr. Fawkes wants to see you p>

Liam’s heart jumped into his throat, the stone of anxiety in his stomach rising again. He quickly composed himself and forced a smile. “Did Soren say what for? How’s his mood p>
