Chapter 670

As soon as Lance said that, Dan’s face got even darker.

“You guys don’t believe me?”

Anders Lowry frowned. “Dan, until you clear things up with Yvonne, you really shouldn’t treat her like that.”

Ivan nodded in agreement. “Relax, it’s not that we look down on you or anything. Honestly, keeping yourself alive is what matters.”

Given what had just happened, it wasn’t like Dan could admit to anything.

Honestly, who would? Anyone in his shoes would keep their mouth shut. Self- preservation and all that.

Dan’s breathing was ragged. “I swear, I didn’t do it.”

The three others just stared at him.

Fine, if he won’t admit it, whatever.

…

Meanwhile, on Yvonne’s side, she’d just stormed in and gotten her revenge.

But somehow, the video of her payback landed right in Shawn’s hands.

At Xander’s villa, Shawn handed over his phone. “Take a look at this.”

After watching the clip, Shawn looked like he’d just seen a ghost.

Xander glanced coldly at him, took the phone, and hit play.

The footage showed total chaos-a private room that looked like a war zone, card tables and chairs knocked over, doors hanging off their hinges.

About twenty people were crammed into the not-so-big room, beating the hell out of a few unlucky souls.

And Yvonne was right in the thick of it.

The poor guys being pummeled didn’t even stand a chance. The worst was when Yvonne slapped Dan across the face-Xander could practically feel the sting through the screen.

It wasn’t just Dan, either; everyone who’d been with him took a beating, courtesy of Yvonne.

Listening to the shouts and commotion in the video, Shawn shivered. “Man, thank God we bailed when we did.”

Ashley and Lott hadn’t even watched the footage, but just hearing the audio-and Shawn’s reaction-told them everything they needed to know.

With Yvonne’s temperament, anyone involved was getting steamrolled. No exceptions.

That video wasn’t just a brawl. It was a massacre.

Shawn muttered, “How the hell did she mistake Dan for someone else?”

“She used

oo love that guy. If she can

on him, imagine what if it was you. She’d

just shoot you,

man.”

He was only half-joking, but the fear was real. Dan had once meant the world to

Yvonne, and now look at him-beaten to a pulp.

If it had been Xander, she’d probably have gone full John Wick on him.

Whatever Shawn said must have hit a nerve, because Xander’s face got even colder. He slammed the phone down on the coffee table with a bang. . FindNovel

Shawn grimaced. Just then, his phone started buzzing. He quickly picked up. “Yeah?”

“Sir, Dan and the guys who played poker with him today-they’re all in the ER now.”

Shawn’s eyes went wide. “What?! The emergency room?”

Holy crap.

He’d seen how hard Yvonne had gone on them in the video, but the ER?

Next stop, ICU? Yvonne must really have been furious about last night.

Swallowing hard, Shawn said, “Keep an eye on Princess Yvonne. Don’t let her notice you’re there.”

“Understood.”

Shawn hung up and turned to Xander. “Your girl just sent Dan straight to the ICU.” Lott and Ashley fell silent.

If they hadn’t hightailed it out of there, they’d probably be getting stitched up in the hospital, too.

Lott asked, “Wait, all of them?”

Shawn nodded. “Every last one.”

Ashley and Lott exchanged glances and said nothing. Yvonne was a force of nature.

Honestly, Dan was unlucky as hell. This time, he really hadn’t done anything wrong, but he still got caught in the crossfire.

Xander’s expression was impossible
