Chapter 1088

[ 642 words ]

Seeing Yvonne walk in, Stella instantly pouted. “Yvonne, the dress is too tight again.”

Yvonne raised an eyebrow. “Again?”

Stella nodded miserably. “Yeah.”

“Don’t stress. Your belly is going to change by the day right now. You’re carrying the triplets, after all.”

Something that fit perfectly today might be entirely too snug by the day after tomorrow.

Stella sniffled. “I don’t even want to have the wedding anymore. I just want to wait until after they’re born.”

“Don’t be silly,” Ronald chided gently.

“But I won’t look pretty in the dress anymore!” she huffed, her voice dripping with frustration.

She sounded entirely overwhelmed and dejected.

“Of course you will. You’ll look stunning. Tell you what, I’ll even wear a maternity gown right alongside you to keep you company,” Yvonne offered.

Stella stared at her.

She glanced pointedly at Yvonne’s perfectly flat stomach. “How are you going to pull that off?”

“I’ll shove a watermelon under my dress. Deal?”

Stella let out a sudden, involuntary snort of laughter.

“You’re crazy,” Yvonne coaxed warmly. “Pregnant women are glowing and beautiful. You don’t need to worry about your figure at all.”

“Have you ever heard anyone mock a pregnant bride for gaining a few pounds?” “I guess not,” Stella admitted.

“Exactly. So be a good girl and let’s take a look. We can easily let out the seams.” Yvonne was the one who had designed Stella’s wedding dress in the first place.

She had deliberately factored the pregnancy into the design, meaning there was plenty of extra fabric to adjust the fit.

Before Stella could protest further, Yvonne had already stepped up to inspect exactly where the fabric was pinching.

“Alright, all fixed. By the way, hurry up and call Susanna and Tegan. Are they flying in or what?”

“Yeah, they’re coming.”

“You already asked them?”

“Nope.”

“Are you kidding me? Your wedding is in three days and you haven’t even given them a heads-up?”

“Are you expecting them to just magically teleport here on the day?”

“Oh my god, you’re right. It completely slipped my mind.”

Yvonne sighed.

Pregnancy brain was a very real, very dangerous thing.

Seeing that Yvonne had smoothly managed to calm Stella’s nerve, Ronald and Xander quietly slipped away to the study.

Left alone, the two women busied themselves pinning the dress while gossiping about the Schultz family drama.

When Yvonne casually mentioned

that

had left a dead snake in

her bed Stella completely lost “She did what? I’m going to kill her.

“Hey, calm down. Take a breath.”

Yvonne quickly soothed, not wanting to spike the pregnant woman’s blood pressure. “I just took the snake and draped it right around her neck. She practically passed out on the spot.”

Stella’s eyes widened in shock.

Seriously?

Wait a second, Yvonne wasn’t scared of snakes?

Mona had really messed with the wrong woman if she thought a creepy prank was going to send Yvonne running for the hills.

“You should have seen it. I just kept dropping little hints to Tristan about her having some secret love child.”

“He doesn’t even have the proof yet, and they’re already tearing each other apart!”

Stella took a sip of her water. “With all that heat on her, there is no way she’s going to be able to funneĻany of Tristan’s cash to pay för Berry’s plastic surgery.”

“Exactly,” Yvonne nodded with a smirk. “Mona isn’t getting a single dime out of Tristan right now.”

“I checked into Berry’s file. She’s got several massive procedures lined up this month. It’s going to cost a fortune.”

“If Mona tries to pull that kind of cash from their accounts now, Tristan is going to catch her red-handed.”

“The best part is, she can’t even get to it!”

It was the perfect trap.

Tristan’s paranoia was dialed up to an eleven. He was going to monitor her every

single swipe of a credit card.

In short, Mona and Berry were in for a spectacularly rough time.

“You bet they are. Anyway, go call Susanna and Tegan.”

Yvonne pulled out her own phone to make a call, but before she could dial, Skye’s

name flashed across the screen.
