Chapter 1096
[ 667 words ]
Derek’s breathing hitched. “You…”
“Look, I’m not used to comforting people,” Barnaby said bluntly, “but you’ve just
been having a ridiculously awful streak lately! Wake up and smell the coffee-you’re just destined to have no heirs.”
Barnaby called this comforting him? This was comforting? What kind of psychotic comfort was this?
Derek staggered out of the elevator, shaking with fury.
Right after he left, Hull returned and ran into Barnaby in the elevator. “What did you say to him this time? He looked furious.”
Hull had seen Derek trip and fall while getting into his car, looking completely defeated and unhinged.
“I didn’t say much,” Barnaby shrugged. “Just that Susanna kept insisting she wasn’t his daughter, and he got mad!”
“I told him to look on the bright side. Since his bloodline is already dead in the water, he should just accept reality.”
“I was literally trying to comfort him, and he had the nerve to glare at me!”
Speaking of it, Barnaby actually sounded quite indignant.
Hearing Barnaby claim he was ‘comforting’ Derek made Hull and Silas exchange a very complicated look.
All the way until they stepped out of the elevator, Hull didn’t say another word to him.
Watching Hull stride purposefully into the room with an imposing aura, Barnaby turned to Silas. “What did I say wrong?”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Silas patted him on the shoulder. “Your comforting skills are top-tier. You should definitely comfort him more next time!”
Barnaby paused.
Why did that sound so sarcastic?
By the time Hull returned, Susanna had finished signing her documents. Seeing him, she pouted.
Hull closed the distance between them, his hands gripping the soft curves of her waist as he leaned in and kissed her!
“Mmph… what are you doing!” Susanna gasped.
Hull effortlessly lifted her and set her on the desk, parting her legs so they wrapped around his lean waist.
“We probably won’t be leaving Litamark for a while. The manor has been prepped. We’ll move in tomorrow.”
“Huh?” Susanna blinked. “Weren’t you planning to head back to Ferrowland once things wrapped up here?”
“Can you even leave right now?” Hull asked smoothly.
Leave? Of course she couldn’t leave right now. Her mother was here in Litamark!
And she had just started taking over Black Gate!
Since Derek wasn’t putting up a fight, her mother’s hostile takeover was going incredibly smoothly.
Hearing her silence, Hull claimed her lips in another passionate kiss…
“Are you coming back to Ferrowland with me?” he murmured.
“I want to stay here and keep my mom company for a while,” Susanna replied.
There was no way she was leaving right now. Even if she went to Ferrowland, it would only be for Star’s wedding.
Wait, what did Hull mean by that?
Because she had to stay in Litamark for a while, he was staying here to keep her company?
Instantly, a lump formed in Susanna’s throat, overwhelmed by a rush of emotion. “Hull~!”
“I have to go to Ferrowland
tomorrow,” she whispered
“Stars Wedding is in three net
have to be there.”
“Yeah, we’ll go together.”
Hull kissed her deeply before scooping her up into his arms and carrying her straight toward the bedroom.
Compared to Susanna’s blissful life, things over in Yoreland were tense.
Tegan went to the hospital for work as usual, spending every day closely working alongside Finley Yoder.
Right after arriving at the hospital and parting ways with Finley, Uriah found her.
In just two short days, Uriah looked utterly exhausted, clearly having had no sleep.
He stepped forward, forcibly
snatched Tegan’s bag, and
rummaged through it until he found
ker phone, Then he swiftly ol
unblocked his number Cent
“What’s the point of this?” Tegan asked coldly.
If she wanted to, she could toss him right back onto the block list at any moment!
Tegan snatched her phone back and, right in front of Uriah, added his number straight back to the blocked list.
Her entire demeanor was ice-cold, radiating an uncompromising sense of finality. “Do you really have to do this?” Uriah demanded. “Tegan, after all the years we…” “Our years together mean absolutely nothing, and they count for nothing!”
Tegan ruthlessly cut off the rest of his sentence. Compared to Uriah’s flustered desperation Tegan was practically frozen in her cam indifference.
