Fated The Alpha’s Unwanted Luna Chapter 105

Chapter 105  Laughing together_Part 3

Sebastian’s expression barely shifted at her question. Only the corner of his lips tilted slightly upward.

“Curious, are we?” he chuckled softly.

“Yes, I am curious. I was too young when everything happened, and no one ever told me the full story. And now I believe I am entitled to the details since I will be your Luna,” she said seriously, not mincing words. It wasn’t every day that she would find this Alpha in such a mood. It was better to take advantage of it and hear the details.

“Hm. You are aware that curiosity kills the cat, aren’t you?” he teased, his silver eyes glimmering with dark amusement. It was not a secret others didn’t already know. It was simply that speaking about it stirred irritation within him and the past pain he had buried behind carefully built walls. Talking about it brought back memories, bitter, angry memories that made his insides churn.

“Yes, but a cat has nine lives. So one life down, which means I still have eight more to go. Let’s use one more to hear the story behind your enmity with my former pack,” Viola mused, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms, a small but confident smile playing on her lips as she looked at him expectantly.

“Are you considering yourself the cat and me the killer?” Sebastian teased, tilting his head sideways, straying from the topic.

Viola pursed her lips. “You said curiosity kills the cat. If considering myself the cat will make you tell me, then so be it. I am a cat. And please don’t stray from the topic.”

“I am not straying,” he lied, and then his silver eyes sparked. “If you can repeat every word you just said in Spanish, I will tell you everything about it without leaving anything out. I saw that you are learning Spanish; let’s see how much progress you have made, because you will be taking an oath in my native language during your ceremony,” he mused, not telling her that he had seen it on her phone, that she was learning Spanish, lest she get reminded that he had invaded her privacy and get angry again.

Viola felt her throat go slightly dry at his words. He wanted her to repeat those words in Spanish? She backtracked and tried to remember the exact words, realizing how long the sentence was and that she didn’t know every word of it in Spanish yet. She hadn’t even been aware that she would give an oath in his native language.

Viola’s lips pressed together. If she weren’t so damn curious about what caused the feud between him and her former pack, she wouldn’t be attempting to embarrass herself by speaking in a language she hadn’t yet mastered in front of him. And worst of all, she hadn’t brought the wristband Nick had given her because the system talked way too much, almost like it could read her emotions and thoughts. It was creepy in a way.

“You are being unfair right now,” Viola muttered, glaring at him. But the Alpha only smiled and shrugged.

“Think of it as anything. You will thank me later for helping you practice my native tongue before your crowning ceremony. Let’s hear it, niñita. Repeat every single word,” Sebastian said, propping his elbow on the table and resting his cheek against his palm in a nonchalant way, watching her patiently.

He looked like a perfect Greek Adonis painting sitting in that position, and his intense eyes made her feel not only a thread of nervousness in her stomach but also an unnerving tension that made her fight the strong urge to tell him she was no longer interested in playing his game. But then again, she needed to practice her Spanish.

Viola could remember certain words, but for the life of her, she couldn’t recall what a cat was called in Spanish. She had learned it, but she had forgotten, especially with the Alpha looking at her like that. Most of the words had slipped out of her mind. Was perro a cat? It should be, right?

Taking a deep breath, she began to speak what she believed were the correct words.

“Dijiste curiosa mata el perro, si contándo me mismo el perro hará tú decir, entonces sea así. Yo soy un perro. Y por favor no desvies del topico.”

Viola’s words in English: ( curious kills the dog, if counting myself the dog will do you say, then so be it. I am a dog. And please don’t stray from the topic.)

She looked at him, and the expression in his clear silver eyes made her immediately realize she had gotten it somewhat wrong. He looked like he was fighting down his amusement.

“Isn’t it right?” she asked with a small chuckle.

Sebastian suddenly burst into laughter.

The maids around the dining hall turned in shock to look at them at the sound he let out.

They had never seen their Alpha smile so openly, let alone laugh. Was he truly enjoying himself enough with this wolfless woman to laugh at her words? That was unheard of. Ever since he lost his parents, he had stopped allowing himself any lightness in life, until he married his first Luna.

After her death, whatever warmth had remained in his eyes vanished entirely. He became colder, harsher, and meaner. Even as a child, he had been ruthless, often requiring his mother’s gentle guidance to temper his temperament and follow the calmer example of his twin brother, Alex. But every loss he endured through the years had doubled that ruthlessness.

Fun had no place in the Alpha’s life anymore that many became terrified of him. He was surrounded only by aloofness and indifference, and even the smallest mistake from someone could cost them dearly.

Only his sister managed to draw out the faintest remnants of softness within him, and even with her, he did not laugh like this. Actually many of the new workers in the Alpha’s quarter had never even thought he was capable of laughter or smiling at all, so they all looked stunned by this sound coming from him.

Viola watched him laugh, utterly baffled by what she had said that was so amusing. Was her mistake really that funny? She hadn’t even known this man could laugh, yet here he was, cracking up like she had delivered the joke of the century. He laughed so hard the corners of his eyes glistened with moisture.

Though Viola felt she should be offended that he was laughing at her mistake, she found herself biting back her own laughter. His laugh was ridiculous, he was practically snorting like a pig, even making faint whistling sounds between breaths.

She covered her mouth with her hand to hide her growing amusement.

Unable to hold it in any longer, she glared at him. “Stop that. What did I say that was so funny? Hey!” she exclaimed when he bent forward over the table and the pig-like sounds grew even louder and more ridiculous and so unlike him.

And then she completely forgot how much she disliked him and that she was being laughed at.

She began laughing too.

Was she going insane, or was he the insane one?

What a pig he was.

That thought only made her laugh even harder, and she even ended up falling off her chair onto the floor, which only made the Alpha crack up even more.

The maids watching couldn’t help but think that this laughter would never end today, and some of them were even biting back their own amusement, for their Alpha was actually laughing for the first time in years. Meanwhile, a certain omega was fuming with rage, her expression dark as she watched the scene unfold before her
