Chapter 247
Chapter 247:
The villa was so still it felt almost hollow.
In the dining room, her eyes fell on a note resting neatly on the table.
It read: “Breakfast is in the kitchen. Don’t forget to eat.” At the bottom was a simple, lopsided smiley face that tugged a smile from Brinley’s lips.
She stepped into the kitchen and found a neatly prepared meal. Without giving it much thought, she sat down, ate quickly, and then tidied up before getting ready to leave for work.

Austin stared at the pair in silence, his expression unreadable.
“What did the doctor say?” Ryder pressed, taking a seat opposite him. “Is it serious? You’re the backbone of the Moore Group—if you collapse, the whole company will feel it p>
Ryder’s words were wrapped in sympathy, but each one probed for details about Austin’s condition.
Austin sneered inwardly, though his face remained composed. “The same old problem. A few days’ rest here will sort it out. I’m surprised you actually have time to visit me p>
They had come only to gauge his condition—and, if they saw an opening, seize control of the company.
Austin’s voice turned flat, his eyes cold. “Don’t concern yourself with me. You aren’t worthy of my attention p>
