Magdalene smiled warmly at the Ainsworths when they came in. The lights from the hallway shone through the door and lit up the lovely entryway.
Diana Ainsworth had a lovely bouquet of lilies and baby’s breath in her hands. She said, “Good morning,” to Magdalene, and the
air was filled with a sweet smell.
“Please come in, Mr. and Mrs. Ainsworth,” Magdalene said as she stepped aside. “Mr. Wyndham is waiting for you p>
“Oh, thank you, dear,” Diana said, her voice full of joy. “I’m so happy to be here this morning.Take this p>
She handed the bouquet to Magdalene, who carefully took it and smiled.
Charles and Diana walked deeper into the house, their faces lit up with happiness. They were so happy they could barely contain it. Gabriel met them in the middle of the living room. He looked calm but pleased.
He greeted Charles by shaking his hand.
Isla was sitting quietly by the window on a soft cream sofa with her hands folded in her lap. She was worried about her parents coming to see her because she didn’t know how they would react. But as soon as her mother saw her, Diana’s feelings came out.
She ran to her daughter, sat next to her, and gently wrapped her arms around her, holding her like she was still a little girl.

Diana finally let go, and her eyes shone with tears. Isla looked at her dad, who was hugging Gabriel at the time.

Charles turned to her with a proud smile and sat down next to her. He gently kissed her forehead and said, “My love, I’m so proud of you.Thank you for making me so happy p>
Isla’s throat tightened as tears gathered in her eyes again. She was getting too emotional these days. Everything seemed to
touch her.
“Thanks for coming,” she said with real feeling, trying not to cry.
Gabriel cleared his throat and spoke in a low, calm voice. “I haven’t told my parents yet.” I want Isla to feel better and get stronger until the morning sickness is over. This is her first time being pregnant, and it’s our first baby. I just want her to be strong before we tell everyone, if you get what I mean.
Isla’s heart echoed softly with what he said. She still hadn’t told him about his grandfather. That he already knows. She was nervous because she knew the old man wouldn’t say anything right away. But he will expect Gabriel to bring the news to him as
soon as possible.
Charles smiled to show he agreed. “Thanks, Gabriel. I completely understand. I really appreciate everything you’ve done for this family p>
Diana got up and went over to Gabriel. She hugged him warmly, tears glistening in her eyes. In a shaky voice, she said, “What you did yesterday was dangerous. But you took that risk because you believed in us so much. Thank you. We will never forget it p>
Gabriel hugged her back and kissed her softly on the head. “Mom,” he said softly, “don’t you remember that you’re part of my family too? Why thank me for doing what was best for my family?
Diana’s lips shook. She quickly wiped away a tear that had fallen on her face. Her heart was full.
Isla, on the other hand, sat quietly and looked lost. She looked at her husband and then at her mom. “What’s happening? Why

Gabriel sighed and sat down next to her on another couch, rubbing his palm over his face.
“You mean he didn’t say anything?” Diana asked, turning to Isla in shock.

Charles decided to explain before Gabriel could speak. He smiled proudly and said, “Honey, your husband has given my company many contracts worth billions of dollars, after firing the other contractors p>
Isla’s eyes widened with shock. “He… what p>
She was shocked and looked at Gabriel. He seemed calm, maybe too calm, but her heart was racing.
That was a lot. Her father’s business wasn’t small, but a deal like that could easily start rumors, questions, or even fights. Everyone would talk, including the board, the press, and everyone else. She should have been happy for her dad, but she couldn’t.
Gabriel could see that she was getting worried. He saw that her fingers were tightly curled around her lap. It was clear that she was thinking too much again. He quickly changed the subject because he knew how detrimental that could be for her health.
