Chapter 43
Outside Carminton’s largest and most luxurious shopping centre, Gabriel and Isla walked hand in hand, as they crossed the street slowly. Even as they walked across the street, they looked at one another, grinning. It felt like they were falling in love all over again.
People stopped to look at them. Some waved and called Gabriel’s name. He smiled warmly and waved back, not shying away from the attention. Isla, though a little shy at first, lifted her hand and waved at them too.
It was no surprise they were recognised. The Wyndham family was one of the most powerful families in Carminton and the whole of Richbouph. Their real estate company was the biggest and most successful in the entire city. They owned mansions, estates, hotels, high–rises, and entire neighbourhoods. Newest update provided by.net
Alfred Wyndham, Gabriel’s grandfather, was also well known for his generosity–he organised a large charity event every year to support underprivileged youths.
The Wyndhams did not only build and sell houses. They invested in many other businesses too. They are into finance, fashion, airline, and steel. And Gabriel, despite being the youngest son, was the one who managed them all.
His two elder brothers worked under him in different branches, but it was clear Gabriel carried the real authority. He was smart, disciplined, and brilliant. It was no wonder his grandfather trusted him above the others to lead the empire.
Bodyguards surrounded them as they walked, creating a protective circle so the couple could pass smoothly. Gabriel led Isla straight into Wyndham Wardrobe, one of their own luxury boutiques.
“Welcome, sir, ma’am. What can I do for you today?” The boutique manager, Gerald, hurried forward the moment he recognised them. The other workers instantly straightened their postures, and lowered their heads. They recognised that the owners of the brand were here.
“Thank you, Gerald,” Gabriel replied with ease. “I’m here to change both mine and my lovely wife’s wardrobe. You already have my measurements. But your tailors will need to take hers p>
Gerald bowed politely. “Of course, sir. Please, come this way p>
He led them into a private lounge designed with soft cream sofas, glass tables, and sparkling chandeliers. Gabriel pulled Isla down beside him before the manager brought out thick magazines filled with the latest designs–casual, formal, evening, and business wear.
“I’ll fetch the tailor,” Gerald said, placing the catalogues on the table. “Meanwhile, you can look through the samples and mark what you’d like p>
A female attendant entered quietly with a beautiful tray. She placed glasses of chilled juice and a plate of pastries before them and left with a bow.
Isla flipped through the glossy pages, pointing at dresses she liked. She had already seen several outfits that suited her style. Gabriel leaned closer, commenting on the designs, and soon they were laughing together over his playful remarks. His charm was effortless, and Isla felt her heart softening in ways she thought she had lost forever.

The tailor soon arrived, carefully taking Isla’s measurements while Gabriel watched. At that time, he was on a phone conversation. While he was talking on the phone, he was still chatting with her. And Isla wondered who he was talking to since she couldn’t hear his conversation properly.
Once that was done, they finalised their selections and prepared to leave. The boutique will deliver everything to
them.
Gabriel did not stop at clothes. He also purchased shoes, wristwatches, handbags, and other accessories for Isla. She could hardly believe the attention.
It was not that Gabriel had never given her luxury things before. He had always spoiled her with luxury cars, fine jewellery, and the monthly allowance that every Wyndham family member received. On top of that, he had given her a personal credit card which he made sure was always filled. Money was not something Isla lacked. But love …that was the only thing she had longed for.
Until now, she had believed Gabriel’s heart belonged to someone else. She had hoped countless nights for his love. And when she already gave up, things began to change. And now, with the sudden change in his behaviour, she wanted to believe this was real. She wanted to hold on. And yet, a part of her guarded her heart carefully, afraid of being broken again.
She knew there were other challenges too. Anna Wyndham, Gabriel’s mother, was the strongest wall between them. Isla was fully aware Anna would do anything, no matter how far she had to go.That fear stayed quietly in the back of her mind p>
For the next two days, Gabriel and Isla withdrew completely from the outside world. They did not visit anyone. They cancelled plans. They stayed wrapped in each other’s warmth. Their attraction burns brighter with every hour.
In the bedroom, on the couch, in the shower–they were inseparable. It was as if Gabriel could not let her go for
even a moment.
Now, under the steaming water of the shower, Gabriel held Isla tightly against him. He lifted one of her legs, pressing it around his waist while his other arm wrapped firmly around her body. His hips thrust into her again and again, the sound of their bodies echoing off the tiled walls.
“Gabriel– ahhh … f*ck,” she cried, her head thrown back as pleasure consumed her.
His lips brushed her wet shoulder as he groaned, “You feel amazing, my love. I can’t get enough of you, Isla p>
The world outside did not exist to them. It was just the two of them, completely lost in their passion.
Gabriel had cancelled all his meetings without a second thought. Isla has taken two weeks off work, allowing herself to forget everything else. He refused to leave her side, and she let herself fall deeper and deeper into him.
