Chapter 164
Mr. Sylvester really has some acting chops-he could walk straight onto a movie set.
Watching Caitlin move on so quickly, and with someone who might be the
legendary Gordon himself, left Julian reeling. His emotions tangled up inside him anger, jealousy, disbelief.
Why?
He was the one Caitlin truly loved. How could she just fall for someone else like that? The thought gnawed at him, suffocating and bitter. He jabbed a finger in Caitlin’s direction. “You don’t even know, do you, sir? Caitlin isn’t just my ex-wife- she’s my cast-off. Used goods! She p>
Julian expected Gordon to recoil in disgust, to turn on Caitlin. What man would ever want someone another man had already discarded? He imagined Caitlin being tossed aside once more, and a twisted sense of satisfaction welled up inside him.
But before he could finish his sentence, a fist smashed into his face.
Crack.
Julian crashed to the ground, cheek swelling instantly, joints aching from the impact, as if his bones might shatter.
It wasn’t over.
The next moment, a well-polished shoe drove straight into his groin.

With that, Gordon pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, wiped his hand with exaggerated care—as if scrubbing off something infectious—then tossed the cloth onto Julian’s face in disgust.
Only after cleaning his hands did Gordon slip his arm around Caitlin’s waist, his voice still deep and slightly rough with an edge of warmth. “Come on, Catie. Let’s go p>
Caitlin snapped out of her daze at the words “Caitlin belongs to me,” nodded faintly, and climbed into the car.
Gordon’s two assistants stayed behind to deal with the aftermath.
He closed the door for Caitlin, then strode around to the driver’s side and got in. The car’s interior was cool, a welcome contrast to the stifling heat outside.
Caitlin turned to look at Gordon, just as he glanced at her. Their gazes locked— his eyes dark and unreadable, like a bottomless well; hers clear, luminous, with a sparkle that seemed almost hypnotic. Find the newest release on.net
For a moment, both of them were caught in the silence.
Caitlin was the first to recover. “Mr. Sylvester, thank you for getting me out of that mess. If it weren’t for you, Julian would probably never stop pestering me like some obnoxious mosquito p>
She had a feeling that after today, Julian would never dare bother her again.
